I disagree, 9-11 may have been more tragic but covid was bigger based on how it shut the country down for weeks at a time then it caused a larger effect globally than 9-11 did although 9-11 also had a large global effect.

I don’t see how it’s “trumps” failure or any any leaders failure for deaths concerning covid. The only world leader that can put all the blame on his shoulders is Xi Jingping. Once it left China it’s a nightmare to contain. The original plan for lock downs wasn’t to stop covid from killing people per se. It was to spread it out so our healthcare system doesn’t break so that no one dies without medical care that wasn’t available to them, so in that sense the US was successful. And what’s all this X amount of lives died under so and so watch talk about? If we went by that wouldn’t good ol’ Abe Lincoln be a shit president because 600k+ Americans died under his watch as well.
