This is a first step but all Chinese studying STEM in the US need to be expelled. Otherwise we are training our enemies and building their economy to the detriment of ourselves. MSM can't report this without crying racism meanwhile the racist Chinese are laughing at our naivety and stupidity in allowing them carte blanche access to the best the US has to offer.

360,000 students in US universities are from China. That's a lot of tuition money.

I expect pushback from colleges.
 
I doubt this happens. Some Australian kid got kicked out of school for saying something against China. These schools care more about money than ethics.

Yes I know that is in Australia but it applies to most countries.

How about Americans students couldn't make the cut so foreigners need to fill the quota?

Meanwhile, it’s true that STEM grads are increasing as a percentage of American university and college grads. But a dwindling number of those students are Americans themselves.

The word counterproductive comes to mind.

Expelling hundreds of thousands of highly educated PHD's, MA's and research students back to China sounds like a dream of the Chinese government. They've been trying to convince educated Chinese to go home to work on their projects.

Did any of you ass clowns actually read the source in the OP? They're only expelling those who have ties to the PLA, so no, it's not 60% of graduate students in the US, and it's not going to be 360,000 students.

From the article (only a few sentences in) :
"The expulsions could affect at least 3,000 students, according to some estimates."

God damn you morons need to get a grip.

Yeah there's something called the Constitution in US and Canada that kinda forbids selectively applying laws on the basis of nationality or race. The ban will last about two hours before getting struck down.​
 
Do we have stats on how many go back to China after graduation? Seems like there'd be a pretty good retention rate, but I don't know what other factors, like family and financing, might be meaningful.
