Tiger Woods is actually the right athletic candidate for this. He has impacted culture in a way few athletes ever have, and sort of changed the way the country views golf. I think he’s a good pick if you’re going with an athlete.

The Ryder Cup is a win for the US, not an individual player, which is why I think it would actually be somewhat understandable if Tiger was the one to carry the US team in a hypothetical US Ryder Cup win.
