Sorry, guys, I can't get the video to embed. CBS hasn't allowed it to be uploaded to any embedding-compatible video-hosting sources, yet.

Why did he pick this guy? Holy crap this was painful to watch for me, and I loathe Trump. I don't mind that Presidents and Vice Presidents won't perfectly align and will inevitably disagree, but Trump clearly isn't going to get a bump from this guy, and needs to immediately rectify his mistake and NEVER appear with Pence again unless it's posing for a picture with clasped hands above the head. At this point his best hope with the pick is to avoid taking a slide from it.

It's particularly painful how obvious it is how little Trump cared to learn about the political history of the guy he chose.

he's robo-cuck. he could be two years away from full chris christie unless he asserts himself a bit more.

terrible political views, too.

at least he looks like race bannon:

Pence is just there to help the campaign get some Koch money

I'm beginning to think this whole thing is an elaborate prank. Like that time Joaquin Phoenix grew a beard and started acting like a crazy person. "I'm much more humble than you would understand" is too good to be true. Nobody lacks self-awareness that much.

Jesus... Trump's blow-off justification of Pence's Iraq War vote alone, given everything Trump said about Hillary's vote, should prove to any thinking person that Trump is nothing but a phony, status quo, politician.

In terms of his physical, geographical location he might be a "Washington outsider" but inwardly he is a card carrying member of the Fraternal Order of Intelligence Insulting Lying Hypocrites.

It was a really really bad interview... Those questions weren't even that hard.

Trump is going to fall apart when things start getting serious. I don't even know how they plan on preparing him for serious debates.

Its very clear trump was forced into this pick. The GOP has conceded this election. But pence shores up hard right guys and the christian vote so that they don't lose terribly down ballot. This race isn't about beating hillary, its about not completely losing the house and senate and getting destroyed down ballot.

^ He's a Democrat though. Even if he just runs as one, can't imagine the base would be happy with an elected Democrat on the Trump ticket.

The whole interview was weird. The interviewer had enough caked on make-up to make her look like take a wax figure from Madame Tussauds, and thenall sitting on the golden chairs at Trump Tower, Trump dominating the whole interview, treating Pence like a L'il Buddy sidekick who is there to be seen and not heard. And the whole "Pence is allowed to make mistakes on Iraq vote, but Hillary isn't" - Trump didn't vet this guy or care a lick about him, that would be an obvious major difference between the two that would be an obvious question and since he is attacking Hillary on her vote you'd think he'd have a prepared answer. Also Pence is pro-TPP and free trade in general, Trump is attacking Hillary on it. So once again, his running mate is allowed to be pro-free trade, but it's bad if Hillary might be (as she now claims to be against TPP)?

More and more it seems Trump is just trying to make sure Hillary wins, but even he doesn't seem to be able to get people to vote for someone as awful as her

He tried creating the only monster bad enough that people would vote against, and it still isn't gonna be enough

Trump is just changing the rules. In the past, your words and actions had to somehow make sense or at least be slightly coherent. No more.

Im not a pence fan, but i watched that whole interveiw. Pence helped trump from spiraling out of control.

I became way more comfortable with the idea of establishment.exe curbing some of the off the cuff rhetoric

The interveiwer was a hillary hitwoman. and they both knew that going in, something hillary would never do (face the opposition willingly)

But to the other point to why he picked a pro iraq pro nafta cafta guy... beats me

Can we get a mega thread for this stuff? Simply title it 'Current presidential nominee does something. It's the worst thing ever.'

It's amazing how little traction this thread is getting. It's almost as if Trump supporters have nothing to say in his defense and so will just ignore this disaster of an interview.

Terrible VP pick. Trump went for republican votes when he should have gone for independent votes.

And reading that transcript was difficult- "I don't care" in response to "your VP was pro Iraq war" was maybe the worst thing to say
