Due to lack of business and poisonous name trump has been bounced from having his name on a hotel by the owners in panama. Its been super ugly with trump reps getting into shouting matches and standoffs.
The apparent end of the Trump Panama hotel illustrated how — in some areas — Trump’s divisive presidency appears to have damaged the fortunes of his businesses. Trump’s businesses were often built to attract residents of coastal U.S. cities and foreign countries. Then, as a politician, Trump often sought to turn coastal elites and foreign governments into political boogeymen.

Since Donald Trump took office, his name and his company have also been removed from Trump hotels in Toronto and Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. In both of those cases, however, Trump’s company reached a quiet, amicable settlement with the hotel’s owners.

In Panama, Fintiklis chose a more confrontational route.

The Trump hotel in Panama opened in 2011. The president’s company does not own the building, but it had a contract to manage the hotel until 2031.

Fintiklis bought 202 of the hotel’s 369 room units last year, assumed control of the hotel’s condominium owners association and quickly moved to kick out the Trump Organization.

“We are ALL losing money and it is getting worse. The only ill-deserved winner here is the [Trump Organization] who continues to clip management fees whilst our hotel is driven into the ground,” Fintiklis wrote in a letter to fellow hotel-room owners earlier this year.

This is another interesting story to me. We've been watching it develop over the last year. Trump's political brand is likely to hurt his business model. I'm very curious about the extent to which it happens and if it rebounds after he's out of office.

His children seem to lack the kind of media appeal that Trump's brand makes use of. The only one who had any value there is Ivanka and the political stuff is tarnishing her brand as well.

Basically a company paid another company to leave.

Trump got paid, and fintiklis took on a huge amount of risk.

Whats so good about Panama? whos likely to win long term here?

Long term it looks like a safe bet they are better off without the Trump name on the front of the building .

im actually amazed that this tacky brand had any credibility at all, even before he got into politics. just cos you cover something in fake gold, dont make it classy, to me its on a level with russian and saudi bling, worthless.

He's kind of like Bruce Willis. That guy can turn in 10 shitty performances in 10 B-movies in a row, yet somehow the perception of him is that he's a star.

I don't think the brand was ever big enough such that becoming the most (in)famous person in the world could possibly produce a net loss. The brand only consists of like 15 hotels and some hokey novelty items and, no matter how profitable each may individually be, I have to believe that the extra attention brought to the brand by having 30% of the American population worshiping its namesake as a messiah would outweigh.

Good. I would like nothing more in the world than Trump to die penniless.

lol true colors of the left .. y'all are 100 times worse than anything trump may be

Oh shit did I accidentally start a trade war and have several of my homies indicted while I was drunk last night? It gets wild down in NOLA bro.

True colors of the right, finding irony in a douchebag millionaire losing his money is worse than insulting a veteran for getting captured and tortured.

Lick them boots.

Panama has attracted a lot of tax havens the past several years. Some American retirees looked into moving there, because of the views, mild weather and they can get more for the dollar. Same reason some Brits move to Spain and some Americans move to Mexico.

And? The irony would be hilarious?

Why am I supposed to feel bad for such an asshole?

There is no irony, you're just a sad person if someone's downfall would make you the happiest you could possibly be. Maybe you should try making something of yourself.
