If he is brought back, he will go in front of court and then they will easily prove the gang threat is no longer valid because the alleged gang he was scared of, Barrio-18, no longer exists. Then the notice of withholding will be removed and he'll be promptly deported again. Remember he came in 2012 and only claimed he was scared of Barrio-19 in his home country in 2019.

People are under the FALSE IMPRESSION that Abrego Garcia was "legal." He was not legal at all. He was in deportation proceedings already and got the emergency notice of withholding order. That just meant he can't be deported to El Salvador but could still be deported anywhere else. So he was never "legal."

I think that Trump has kind of proved that particular facts don't really matter as much anymore if you have the Power of Belief. Might as well go with it if you're the opposition, instead of worrying so much about finding that perfect character to stand up against his rivers of bullshit. Trump's going to lie about anything and everything anyways, so it doesn't really matter. Let him keep talking about it, because losing in court and the judiciary standing up to him makes him look weaker.

Look at the Jan 6th Pardons, where he argued that the convicted rioters didn't get fair trials and were treated unfairly. And that federal agents and Antifa were behind it. Of course that was all a pile of crap, but he went and did it anyways.

And the 2020 Election, he still insists that it was stolen with zero actual evidence.

It's not the man himself, but the principle that due process matters and that the powerful still need to follow the rules. The Trump administration admitted they made a mistake, and then sent Garcia to El Salvador anyways. Then they defied a court order and then continue to ignore a court order ordering them to bring him back. So much of Trump's misbehavior is because people let him off the hook when he does bad stuff and it just emboldens him further. Gotta stop doing that.
