Trump administration overapaid 500 million for ventilators

We would not have gotten in this mess in the first place if we had taken this seriously in the beginning instead of calling it a Democratic hoax. I just heard this statistic 1 in 14 in the US government believes is COVID positive vs Germany 1-175, Britain 1-125 and the US makes up 24 percent of the deaths in the world but 4 percent of the population. Heard idea needs to be down to 1 out of 4 and chances it could mutate by that point an a million plus will die.

The point is that, were the production orders given when they should have been, the price would have been much lower. I don't know that there was any interested dealing, although that seems to be inherent in just about every Trump policy.

The same thing happened with masks. A company in Texas offered to make them in January. The Trump administration instead waited until April and ended up paying 3x as much per mask.

Might've had something to do with the "brilliant" Dr. Fauci saying masks weren't important, because he was afraid people would buy them up.

Huh? He discouraged a run on masks specifically because of inadequate supply - and he was correct, as US hospitals immediately experienced huge shortages in masks. Other countries appropriately acted earlier on supply production and were able to flatten the curve far more effectively than the US.

I have no interest in debating the brilliance of Fauci or somehow making him the liberal champion to Trump's foil. Trump is a moron and a terrible leader with absolutely zero foresight or accountability. That people like you feel the pathological need to defend him is sad.

Maybe his concerns were appropriate, but he lied about how effective they were to meet his goals. Not that you care or anything. Got many people infected and killed with his misinformation? Who cares? It hurts Trump.

Yeah, no. He said to keep them for healthcare workers and to disregard their use for normies, and says now that it is because of supply chain concerns, but then, the surgeon general, CDC and WHO said not to wear them.

From what i've read over the months many countries paid OTT prices to get medical equipment for this virus, Trump isn't alone in this.

Any Evidence to support your claim ?

phillips doesn’t make ventilators and Doesn’t have the infrastructure or labor force to specialize - hence labor cost is more than would be with a specialized manufacturer
