I don’t own a boat and I don’t have a plastic removal machine, but I’m sure someone out there is working on it so I’m not panicking.

I think it should be the priority focus of every government in the world. In terms of exactly how you solve the problem? I'd be very rich if I knew the answer to that but I think all available resources should be allocated to it and that it is the biggest issue that we face as a species.

It's too late in the sense that not enough people give a shit and there's no desire to change. Individual decisions won't make a difference, it has to be a worldwide effort and as a species we're just not going to do it.

Individual decisions can make a difference though. Just think what mega billionaires like Elon Musk and big corporations could do if they invested in environmental solution technologies. Bacteria that eats chemical pollution. Biodegradable products. Recycling technologies. Cleaner industrial technologies. Revolutionary and lucrative technologies could easily turn the ship around. Research and development in these tech is always ongoing all over the world. Cutting edge stuff is getting discovered all the time. And I think the new tech will be immensely profitable as well.

On an individual grass roots level I do believe it also makes a difference. Public and political pressure does matter. Holding leaders accountable does matter. Environmentally responsible consumerism does matter. Policy and action does matter and it comes from ordinary folk.

The 2025 Trump government's irresponsibility and regressive policies don't speak for the rest of the world or for an era.
