Share yours here, and give opinions on people's mixes.

I just found out about this place, and find it AWESOME that you can get your own blend.

Here is what I came up with, let me know what you guys think. More protein???

Custom Mix Ingredients:
Ingredient % of Mix
Egg White Protein 10%
Whey Protein Isolate Ion-Exch 15%
Whey Protein Isolate Microfiltrated 15%
Hydrolyzed Whey Protein High Grade 10%
Hydrolyzed Casein 10%
L-Glutamine Powder 5%
Creatine Monohydrate Powder 10%
Branch Chain Amino Acids INSTANTIZED (BCAA's) 10%
Essential Amino Acids (EAA's) by the Pound (1lb) 5%
Flax Seed Oil Powder 5%
Medium Chain Triglyceride Powder (MCT) 5%

Umm...I'm a little bit confused as to what you are trying to accomplish with this formulation.

That's the point of posting here. What are your opinions on the mixture? Why? What should change?

I'm looking for pretty much just a good protein shake without much else in it..

Is this supposed to be Post workout, pre workout,or an anytime shake?

Ditch the glutamine, flaxseed powder, and mct's for sure.Search for Madmick's surge mimicking true protein mix.You could always replace the maltodex & dex for oat powder. It'd probably just be cheaper to put add your own creatine.

You don't need that much shit in one shake.

we've gone through pwo again and again.

1/3 protein
2/3 carbs

decent proteins: hydro whey, hydro casein, peptopro
decent carbs: wms, oat, malto/dex

just pick one of each depending on goals and price range.

Cytogainer is really good for the price. It has basically the same breakdown as the trueprotein formula I use, so I'm switching to that + a half tbsp of BCAAs as soon as I run out. Anyway:

30% dextrose
30% maltodextrin
15% whey protein isolate
15% hydrolyzed whey protein
10% BCAAs

Add 5g of creatine monohydrate to each shake.

3 75cc scoops is a pretty decent sized post workout serving. 12-14oz of water should be enough to mix it well.

edit: 15% hydrolyzed is only for taste, if you are manly, go with 30% hydrolyzed.

Wow, I just stumbled onto their website and it's pretty awesome! For somebody who knows what they're doing, I imagine they could kiss GNC (and similar shops) goodbye and make their own product that's 4x as good for about 4x cheaper!

Uh, if I had serious money, I would just PM MadMick or Vedic and offer to buy their nutritional services.

Is there a thread though where people have came and said "if you want something in between matches of a tournament here's a mixture" "if you want a post-MMA drink here's a mixture" "if you want a post lifting drink here's a mixture" etc.? Something like that could be really great for people who want to take better care of their bodies but don't really know how.

Its in the stickies. Trueprotein has been a really hot topic on several occasions here.

Wow, so they have custom made formulas for everything under the sun, including "MMA specific formulas" but unfortunately for the layman they don't tell what their purpose is, just what the composition is.

If you know the composition, then you know the purpose, do you not?

Not if you don't know jack about nutrition and supplementation. At that point you're at the mercy of the vendor

Unfortunately, I don't know the composition of the materials, so indeed I do *not* know their purposes. At this point, buying something from here is a little beyond me. I'll just have to keep paying high prices for things like Gatorade, Syntha-6, Isopure, and anything else I want until I learn enough to do my own building and save me money.

Ignorance is bliss...and quite expensive!

I didn't mean that as a slam to you, cheath. I'm not sure if it came off that way or not... I was more or less just trying to say that a lot of people buy stuff without knowing much about it based on vendor advertising... For the most part, I think people would be better off avoiding supplementation until they get a good grasp on it all and have a solid diet.

joshetc,

LoL, Maybe I'm just a little off today but I'm trying to figure out if you're agreeing with my statement or telling me I'm a jackass that needs to read the FAQ :D

No worries Monger, Vedic, or Joshetc, I didn't take any of your comments as hostile. I tried to avoid blatantly asking for help without trying to help myself first, cause I know that's frowned upon. I'm actually just being the first one to admit that I don't know anything about any of this stuff. I'd love to learn and order my own custom things rather than paying the dumb mans price for proteins and Gatorade from the store, that probably isn't even optimal for my goals. But I think it can be somewhat complex, more so than some folks may make it out to be. And until I have a really firm grasp, I wouldn't want to presume knowing it at all.

I wish this company would list not only the ingredients to their pre-made's, but a purpose as well as that would appeal to guys who know about chemical make up, and guys who don't.

I'll try to do some reading on this stuff in the FAQ's in my spare time to try and educate myself. This is SO fascinating to me. Man, if only I could rewind the last 6 years when I first went into college and got into these kinds of things.
