The lightweight division doesn't really have a clear-cut GOAT right now (though a lot of people would say BJ Penn). But assuming this fight happens, would the winner have an argument as being the greatest LW of all time?

I’d say no. Khabib could be if he beats like alvarez or poirier and ferguson. Conor should never even be considered for that. He’s fought at lightweight once.

LOL nope.
Maybe Khabib.
But COnor?
He has 3 fights at LW.
2 against a journeymen and he is 1-1 against him.
and one against the champion.

That's NOTHING.
Calling him LW GOAT only shows you have no clue about LW division and its history.

Edit: I understand his fights with Nate were not at LW weight, but I consider both to be LW's so they simply did not cut weight to fight. I do understand if you want to be technical and put Conor with 1 fight at LW only.

Id still have BJ slightly above them, but at this point I think Khabib and Conor beat Prime BJ even though his accomplishments at LW are greater at the moment.

No for both.

He's 2-1 at Lightweight.

Guess you dont know about the division's history either. He's fought once at LW.

Well, he fought Nate. IMHO it was a LW fight.
the fact they did not cut to the actual 155 is irrelevant IMO.

edit: the fact you put BJ slightly ahead of Conor shows you are not that bright. Especially if you only consider him to have ONE FIGHT at LW....

nope, neither have defended the LW belt. Frankie, BJ Penn, and Bendo are ranked higher LW GOAT then Conor or Kalabeeb.

This year Khabib fought Iaquinta and Barbosa. He doesn’t even have a title defense yet. It’s not a maybe it’s a no.
I noted maybe because it depends what he does from now on.
Meaning: he has a chance to surpass BJ (but didn't yet).

And why you note Barbosa like it is easy toi beat him?
And AI was not his fault either. he was supposed to fight Tony.

So if you consider Tony, Conor and Barbosa, it would have been a great year for Khabib.

Add the fact he is unbeaten, I do think he would have had a great case to plead

One guy has fought at LW once. The other fought like two top 5 contenders.

Khabib is on a very good way though. But he needs more real quality wins.

Right now Benson has a better argument. But I would say it's still BJ.

Conor disqualified himself from GOAT anything because he can't defend a title and risk losing.

GOAT maintain greatness over an extended period of time by beating ALL CHALLENGERS repeatedly over and over.

Conor is afraid of losing to the hungry savage that trains 60 hours a week, works part time doing something undesirable and has to live on someone's couch listening to them get pussy while looking at the clock counting his time until his 5am 5 mile run.

GOATS readily fight and beat these guys proving their the best.

Khabib needs to rack up defenses too.

Both are already 1a and 1b. i agree that whoever wins it the undisputed GOAT
