Right now the top contenders at LHW are Reyes, who is getting the shot, and Anderson and Blachowicz who are presumably fighting for the next one.

I am going to be honest here, I am not really that hyped to see any of these guys go up against Jones. I am not denying that they deserve a chance but they only do because the division is as shallow as it is. The last truly exciting contender that offered an interesting match up against Jones was Rumble Johnson. Of course Jones would be favored against him as well but can anyone here really say they would rather see Reyes, Anderson, or Blachowicz against Jones over Rumble?

These guys are stringing together some decent wins here and there but nothing like what Rumble did when he came back to the UFC. Every opponent he fought was ranked and he finished all of them but Phil Davis

If Rumble came back to the division he'd run over the likes of Smith, Santos, Reyes, Anderson, and Blachowicz. Would he beat Jones? Probably not but wouldn't you give him a better chance than the aforementioned LHW contenders? Discuss.

In hindsight, Thiago Santos was exciting. Going into the match, Gus was exciting. Same goes for DC.

Personally, I think Rakic will prove to be a highly formidable and exciting contender for years to come, but that has yet to be proven.

But, yes, Rumble was fucking terrifying. So I agree as of this moment. KO'd Glover in like 10 seconds and had Bader looking like he was reevaluating his career as a professional fighter. Like, Jesus, the guy was putting the fear of God into people.

Gus was exciting all the way up until Jones 2, only because of their first fight.

I don’t think Rumble does well in a return. His mind isn’t there. We could count on him being in the worst cardio shape of his career, which would make him quit easier.

After Reyes, I have a hard time getting excited about anyone fighting Jon at LHW. I think other contenders can emerge but I'm not particularly excited by anyone since Walker but he looks to be a glass cannon in there.

Jon fighting at HW would probably be the only fights I would get excited for after Reyes.

Rakic, Reyes, the uncrowned champ Johnny Walker, Gegard would be interesting at 205. Jones would have to wrestle Gegard or get his ass kicked standing

Thiago was not only interesting but he won in my eyes, and in the eyes of many other fans.

When I saw the staredown at the weigh-ins I realized that he gave 0 fucks but I never expected him to be so dominant in the exchanges.

Even though he didn't finish Davis, the way he threw him around like a little brother was pretty insane

One of the most mentally weak fighters I’ve ever seen, couldn’t push through adversity, compare Santos effort on bad knees and Rumbles folding, two different universes.
