As a teacher she would have the inside scoop on what kids to target. I'm thinking Ali and Dorf "solve" the case in 1990 but have to cover up what they find to protect Ali and his family. 2015 Ali is going to rediscover the shit they hid. Old man Dorf is really pissed that he never got his apology so he just wants to be around to see the look on Ali's face when he learns the truth.

So-so episode. I still like this season, but the cracks are starting to show. Predictable events, kind of square storytelling, flat acting and dialogue. I liked how

Tom Purcell got involved in the case and started being proactive.

    Didn't like how

he magically managed to sneak into a police station, then snuck up on Dan, then magically snuck into kiddyfiddler mansion.
Also, I have a problem with the show showing events from other character's points of view, instead of just the main characters. I prefered how they did it in season 1.

I dunno. I feel like people aren't quite acting logically enough for me to believe the plotline.

    PS:

    The fat lady is suspicious.
And if I remember correctly, Amelia looked out and saw a guy in a janitor suit when she was at the nun place. And Dan reacted when a guy in a similar suit entered the restaurant. Hints are being dropped that certain people are surveilling certain other people, I think. Not that this hasn't already been speculated about.
Anyone know if people in janitorial clothing have been around in earlier episodes?

If I remember right the guy in the janitor suit that Amelia saw out the window was actually a landscaper. I forget his name (Mike Ardoin I think?) but he’s mentioned as being friends with Julie in the 1980 timeline.

Shes the only one that makes any sense as to the legit villian. She acts kind of psycho in an eerie calm way. Thought it was just really shitty acting but maybe there's a point to it.

Was an ok episode. I don’t like screen time of him and Amelia even if she’s involved. Their scenes together suck

Agreed. Their story is pointless and usually I feel like it’s used as filler more than anything else.

As for her involvement.. I don’t see it. I’m getting the impression that she’s long dead in the modern timeline tbh. Plus, they have too many scenes with her alone acting concerned or legitimately not knowing what’s going on. That, and we already know from Dans info which Tom forced out of him the mother was involved (it’s also how Tom knew where to go at the end of the episode which probably proves Dan actually did know everything). If Amelia was involved her actions in private with the mother would have been very different because they’d both be in on it.

Ep 5 was the first great episode imo. Newest one went back to baseline.

I also like the idea of Amelia being a villian, but the further we go the more I feel like she's just going to be another victim to the larger behemoth.

Just finished episode 5. Quite a way behind.
Will try and smash a couple this weekend but doubtful to be honest, plans.
Still slow as fuck. It's just not gripping me really - even the crime itself is quite 'meh'. Season 1, I watched it the way Pizzolato hoped you would - I found myself dwelling on it in my spare time, running over scenes in my head, etc. Coming up with theories.

Nothing this time. And I dont know if its just me, but I dont feel like there's been anything to dwell on yet - I haven't noticed any glaring or subtle background clues or hints etc.

    Anyway, hoping it picks up.

Finally got to this week's episode. Amazing. Sad there are only 2 left.

Nothing else quite like this show. I love the way the story doesn't give a fuck about the audience, the quality of the whole production is top notch, and of course the mood of the series, it really has its own feel.

I still really feel like this might all be tied together to the pedo/rape/murder cult, going all the way back to season one. There are a few similarities in the murders, and Hoyt has the kind of money & power to be involved with something on that scale, with the kind of players that were hinted at back then. Also, where they are this season, is only half a day's drive from where Rust & Marty try to solve a murder a few years later...

This episode, we heard (second-hand) Julie describing where she had been, as "a queen in a pink castle". This is almost certainly, her description of the room that Tom finds his way into at the very end of the episode (the walls were painted pink.)

And my first thought when she said that line about "a queen in a pink castle" was, I wonder if the pink queen had a yellow king...

Nic just said no connection to season 1 and no yellow king. I think they're just messing with us with that reference and also I feel the Hoyt corp is benevolent but something went really wrong with Will like an accident or something.

Edit: I was just going through the reddit sub and someone posted something really mind-blowing.

So far this season has been a letdown, not really big on Ali’s Performance
Dorff is only good thing about the show
They need a real good ending for this to show to be redeemed
    Just my 2 cents

The way I see it is they're emphasizing on how they're a bad couple who are just together because of that case.
