Out of these two types of vehicles - truck and van - which is the more practical one to have if you had one as an extra vehicle? Which serves more purposes?

Neither are practical, but I would take the first one and get rid of the aftermarket ride height and all that other flashy stuff, and what I would be left with is a good towing and hauling rig. The pictures van is just a lifestyle vehicle. If it was a Sprinter or Transit, it would be a great work vehicle , something to camp in or haul around recreational vehicles and gear.

i just used the pics for fun. The question was for the specific type of vehicle.

lol. The pics i included were of ridiculous examples for comedic effect. The question of to the practical nature still is unanswered by u sir.

lol, I figured. We had a 2007 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab 4WD for 10 years, and I am really sad that we traded it in back in 2017. I used the truck for so many things and nowadays I really regret getting rid of it. I plan to get another truck in the future.
