Just said on MMA Hour. So to keep track. Browne - November Reem - September Bigfoot - suspension ends in Sept. - wants to fight at the UFC Fight Night card planned for Brasilia, Brazil, on Sept. 13. Gonzaga - broken hand ? Mir - ? Barnett - just started to pratice again after a knee injury.
yeah. and to keep adding. JDS broken hand Big Nog - knee surgery out for a while Brandon Vera - not sure if he's still even in the UFC? Rothwell - suspended the end of june/early july Todd Duffy - ?
Isn't Duffee recovering from some pretty serious disease or condition? Found this: http://www.mmamania.com/2014/3/6/54...done-in-ufc-despite-neurological-disorder-mma http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...ecovering-from-rare-disease-could-miss-a-year Hope he comes back sometimes soon and keeps up the fast recovery as he stated earlier in the year.
Assuming he doesn't retire, I think Mir should rematch Vera. It gives Mir a chance to avenge an old loss right after his knee and before the resurgence, and if Vera wins, he might have one last shot at being relevant. We could see Barnett/Browne II and Bigfoot/Reem II based on the timeline, but with all those rematches I think it gets weird. Not sure what I'd rather see though. Plus where does Miocic fall (assuming he beats Maldonaldo)? Do they reschedule the JDS fight?
i think if Miocic wins they need to make Miocic VS Reem for the next title shot. Reem won't have the biggest streak but they'd be the highest ranked guys with win streaks going into a championship fight. Plus the Reem VS Champ fight is big money and this may be the last time to make that happen. They need that PPV.
I like that idea. Right now Reem is the most marketable challenger, and Miocic would be the only top 10 guy on any sort of notable streak. Or, maybe we'll see JDS/Reem once his hand recovers (finally!). A boy can hope, right?
