    Hey guys,

I'm from NYC and I'm planning on a trip to Bangkok for 4 months. Im hoping to get as many fights as possible when I'm out there and was looking around for an affordable insurance plan. I been searching around but i can't seem to find one that covers "extreme sports". I'm hoping on some feed back, maybe ill just book any insurance plan and say i "fell" or something?

Also any recommendations to Muay Thai stores for gear?

    Thanks in advance!

Insurance is like betting against yourself. I wouldn't bother, just skip the hospital bill when you leave.

Never travel without insurance, especially to a place like Thailand. So much shit can happen there, you'll see.

Gonna hijack this thread some. I'm planning a trip to Thailand next year with my woman. As far as cities, we want to see Bangkok some but mostly Chiang Mai because we think that northern Thai food is the tits. We are looking for a beach locale too and I'm unsure where to go. Ko Phi Phi looks amazing but is supposed to be really touristy. Anybody know of a really gorgeous but more low key beach area, not necessarily totally remote.

Koh Samet is (or at least used to be) a little more low key.

Mae Haad beach on Koh Phangen is nice with really good snorkling. I can't really compare Mae Haad to other places but I saw so many fish. Not busy but that Island is famous for full moon parties so look into that. We arrived a week after one and the city was tired and kind of a mess. Most people go to Koh Samui, some go to Koh Phangen and Ko Tao.

Thailand hospitals are reasonable. Nothing like the states. Still if you doing mt, get insurance. But if you don't, no biggie

Didn't you see Hangover 2? Anyways, you can just stop by at a clinic and get some random dried out mushrooms, put it in hot water, and be better in no time.

You could also go to Koh Lanta right next to Phi Phi. Apparently its the same just without all the people and the parties. The furthest away though.

Distances from Chiang Mai are: 1) Bangkok 2) Koh Samet, Koh Chang 3) Koh Samui, Tao, Phangan 4) Koh Lanta, Phi Phi, Phuket

It wont hurt to ask if training is covered, the couple of times ive got it they only cared if the extreme sport was skiing however all bets are off if you get on a scooter
