ok my main focus is judo been training in judo for 18months,before that i had trained bjj for 6 and was a 2stripe whiebelt.after i switched focus to judo i signed up at an mma gym inorder to keep training jiujitsu and keep developing my ground game i train 2 classes of gi jiujitsu under a purple belt a week and attend one no-gi open mat, plus 3 sessions of judo.
i really want to start competing in bjj aswell as judo and was thinking of spending the last 6 weeks of my college holidays in another city training intensely in bjj and working part-time i would be training twice a day under a bjj blackbelt 5days a week,a 3hr open mat saturdays and possibly private lesson on sunday.
would this be worthwile when i'm goong to return to my regular 2classes a week and open mat.obviously by the end of those 6 weeks i'll have improved alot but after 6 months of being back to normal training will i have alot left to show for it.

would be great to hear from anyone who has trained at a high intensity then gone back to a couple of sessions a week,.
were able to maintain or wven continue to improve skill level after returning to just a few classes a week.
i guess im just wondering if the benefits are going to be there mid-long term.

I do not see the problem. Some guys that train like animals for abu dhabi pro and after their 3 month preparations, they will reduce their training to 3 times per week. They might lose some fitness and the skills/experience earned does not go away.
