Hey was wondering if you guys could help a newbie out. Yes I've read the sticky, but I couldn't find the answer to my question there.

1) What kind of mma gloves do i buy for focus mitt training? mma bag gloves possibly?

2) Do I use handwraps underneath?

3) I'm looking for the kind of gloves that fedor has in the video b/c they seem high quality and they're lace up so they'll fit better.

I do not know this brand. But the shape it is similar to Fairtex and Hayabusa MMA gloves

Any kind of bag glove really. Boxing, MMA, MT...whatever works and it comfortable. I like something around the 12oz range personally.

Depends on the gloves. If I'm using a brand that's soft in the wrist - absolutely. If I'm using a glovee that locks up nice and tight - I don't worry too much. Keep in mind the intensity that you want to go to as well. If you plan on going hard wrapping up is always a good idea. If you're working your form or new combinations you shouldnt necessarily worry about beating on it as hard as you can

What environment are you working in? Do you have a trainer or are you working in a class? When in comes to working in a class lace up flat out suck, IMO. They take time toe lace up nice and tight and sometimes needs a second guy to get them there. When your partner is cinching on thai pads or putting focus mitts on you don't want to be taking an extra minute or two to lace up, especially if you're going off of a round timer and have predetermined rest breaks between rounds. Training is about getting reps in. Your training partner is likely paying to be there as well, so take their time into consideration as well.

If you have a trainer to yourself for whatever length of time and still want to lace up - have at it.

Just my two pennies.
