anyone have any info on a BJJ tournament coming up in Pennsylvania?

I heard something about it recently, but couldn't google it for shit.

My understanding (and I'm new to PA, so correct me if I'm wrong) is that there aren't many because of some sort of rules/regulations issues. At least, not around the Philadelphia area. There's always large tourneys in Delaware and Jersey (there's the Diamond State Games and the GQ/Copa Atlantica coming up in June), but there never seems to be anything in Eastern PA.

The Kumite Classic in Pittsburgh is on May 24.

Here is the link: JiuJitsu

It's pretty much run like crap every year, but it is the largest tournament in Pittsburgh.

was that the tourney that they had people starting from the knees last year?

If not, I might actually go up there to do it.

You definitley don't want the Kumite Classic doing you...;)

Its not as bad as it sounds :icon_chee After a while you might start to like it.

No, we start from standing just like any other tournament. Ironically, the only "knees only" tournaments I know of are some judo newaza tournaments in other countries.

is it usually a decent tournament? BJJ rules?

No its single elimination, no holds barred, and winner gets Br'd by some village people steel workers

Isn't there a US Grappling tourney in June in Delaware?
