I love them both but Demolition Man has a special place in my heart. Snipes and prime Bullock give it an edge. Simon Phoenix was one of the best villains of the 90's

Total Recall began development in the 1970's and was ultimately filmed in 1989. It feels late 80's for a reason.

Demolition Man should be compared to Last Action Hero. They're both cop movies that came out in the same year. They were also ahead of their time. Audiences in the early 90's were not ready for self-aware action/comedy films and neither film was well regarded upon release.
