My internet connection was down the last week so I couldn't upload anything or being active on the board.

But I'm back again and here's the new tutorial: Tornado kick.

It's actualy a pretty simple kick but there are so many people that do it wrong.

Sory for updating it so late but lthough you wouldn't believe it I have a life.

So here's the step-by-step

1. You kick with your LEAD LEG! and the turning motion is performed with the BACK FORWRAD! Very obvious but there are people who still confuse it.

2. Your kicking leg should be bent, Lead the swinging/suppporting leg as close as possible to the calf of the kicking leg. This initiates the turning motion.

3. Turn around on the ball of your kicking foot untill you clearly see the target again. The looking at the target serves as control if you turned around enough to launch the kick.

4. Jump up from the kicking foot on the supporting foot and perform a round house kick. The supporting foot must be planted at the time when the kick hits the target.

Important notes:
The kick is technicaly simple, though not very easy.

The major aspect of the kick is to transfer the motion force in to the kick, this requires a lot of repetition and adjustments.

Keep your kicking leg bent, it lowers your center of gravity which helps you with the stabilization of the rotating motion and you need a bent leg to actualy jump for launching the kick.

Although it seems that way this is NOT a jumping or flying kick. Try to reduce the time in the air to minimum if you want to bring force into the kick and be sure to stand on your supporting leg when you hit the target. At any split second that you spend in the air you lose force.

If you can't bring the hips into your kick, and hit the target with your knee showing up, you need to turn around much more before you launch the kick. Some people would jump highr to have more time to bring in the hips, it could work but as I said above it costs force.

The swinging leg controls the length of the kick. It should be lead very near to the kicking leg. Leaving it close to the kicking leg within the motion leads to a short kick, poining it towards the target makes the kick long.

Good to have you back Kyryllo.

Check your back-kick thread if you haven't already. I posted a treat.

I've been praying for the day that someone lands this on someones face in a match, that would've been the tightest, flashiest KO in MMA history.

Good tutorial !!!

One of the so many nice and beautifull tkd kicks !

awesome, I have always liked to warm up my legs with that kick, helps with hip rotation.

i really like your videos, its those little things that you show that people always neglect

i wanna practice this one to throw off people in my MT school but i dont want anyone to see

awesome

i will practice that kick along with the brazilian kick

Very nice. Thanks alot. I've been praciticing the brazilan kick. Not able to get it up high with alot of snap, but my mid/low kicks with me lead leg are alott better, and I don't need to shuffle/step to land them, making them less telegraphed.

Again, thanks man. Will try this out tonight!!

Back when I did a karate/TKD mix a couple years ago, I always had trouble with this technique.

I can hit it when it's low to the ground, more like you did it, and I guess that's more practical for fighting. But just for fun purposes, I want to do the aerial version, like Shogun did against Arona. Any tips for bringing it up higher?

Never seen this before by a Thai.

Probably it must be the old form of thaiboxing or something don't know the name anymore...

Anyway they also have a football game were they do some acrobatic kicking against the little bal (almost like tennisball or something)

Those kicks and combinations you will mostly see in WTF TKD sparring.

Actually this is one of the easiest kicking combos, there's some more advanced one too and if you can score a point with it, that's what TKD so entertaining to watch !!!

Awesome can't wait to show my friends..in their face.

I'm newer to this forum. I'm impressed.
Great videos. Wouldn't be able to find something like that anywhere else.
Keep up the great work.

You also can use this as a counter kick. You actually just do it backwards, maybe with jump or a step back.

It looks easy and it's actually easy but combining it in sparring is very difficult !

Anyway here a nice vid of TKD, good combos and KO's !!!

HAHA..that was some good shit. Not to dis TKD, but does the phrase "HANDS UP, chin down" not translate to Korean?

Seriously.

I can't handle watching those WTF-style vids. They always seem to be soundtracked with asian chicks singing while jacked on crytsal meth. Plus, videos of foot tag are wrong in so many ways I don't even know where to start.

This is Kyryllo's thread on kick tutorials.

Leave that shit out.

Ooh man when do ppl like you kill themself.

TKD has it flaws, ooh noo here we go again...............

Mikemartial
Your right the music in the clip doesn't do justice for TKD. It sounds too kiddy.

Anyway why wouldn't this clip be usefull, if you look good you will see Kyryllo's technique is performed in a demonstration and in sparring.

If this has nothing to do with TKD or techniques generally, then take my shit and the other shit from my two previous posters away too bc that has nothing to do with TKD or techniques then only bashing.

Ppl like them (those stupid ppl with stupid remarks everytime)don't have to teach one single thing about MA or how to defense against boxing.

Anyway back on topic
