Top Fighter by era

LOL at Ken Shamrock being on there.

His fight with Royce was a draw. His fight with Oleg Taktarov was a draw.
He split fights with Dan Severn.
He fought in 3 UFC tournaments, never won any of them, and never appeared in the finals of any of them.

He cried "Petey, my heart" and gave up against Fujita in Pride.
He lost to Don Frye in Pride.

He lost 291 straight fights against Tito Ortiz.

He got flash KO'd by Sakuraba. Saku probably smoked a couple cigs and drank a quart of sake before that fight.

If you fought in the UFC during that era, and never won a tournament, then you're not an all-time great.

94-96 Ken Shamrock was the best, period.

In that time he won the first UFC HW title, First King of Pancrase, defended both belts, he actually was a finalist in UFC 3 but dropped out because Royce did, Ken would have easily won.

I don't know why you're bringing up Ken's career post WWF, he clearly wasn't the best then.

Hating much.

Bas was never as good as people make him out to be. I know he's really popular but his legacy is overrated IMO.

To say he was the top fighter in the world from 1995 to 1999 is crazy!

This must have slipped your mind...

with all due respect to Fedor, 2004 belongs to BJ

BJ went up in weight and beat Hughes (considered by many at the time to be the pre-Fedor GOAT and easily a p4p top 3 fighter)
then he beat Duane Ludwig (at WW) whom many considered the #1 LW in the world after BJ left for WW
caps it off with (an admittadely uninspiring) win over a top ten MW in Rodrigo Gracie

I think tennis was trolling, not sure.

Uh, with correct math, here are my picks:

1993-1997
1) Royce Gracie
2) Ken Shamrock

1998-2002
1) Mark Coleman
2) Fedor

2003-2007
1) Fedor
2) Chuck Liddell

2008-2012
1) Anderson Silva
2) GSP

93: Royce Gracie
94: Royce Gracie
95: Ken Shamrock
96: Ken Shamrock
97: Igor Vovchanchyn
98: Igor Vovchanchyn
99: Igor Vovchanchyn/Frank Shamrock
00: Kazushi Sakuraba/Mark Coleman

10: Anderson Silva
11: Anderson Silva/Jon Jones
12: Anderson Silva/Jon Jones
13: Georges St-Pierre/Jon Jones

damn, very good list

I'd say Tamura gives Rutten and Igor a run for their money. He defeated Maurice Smith, Tsuyoshi Kosaka, Renzo Gracie, V-Reem, Dave Menne, Mikhail Ilyukhin, Mitsuya Nagai, and avenged his losses to "Volk Han".... all March of 2000.

The duder was a beast.
