How the hell did Jon Jones or GSP overtake Anderson in 2010?

I feel like Royce's was longer and frank shamrock was in there in the late 90s.

ummmmm, not sure about the eras, but there are some guys who i thought were defintely, if only briefly, the best fighters in the world:

    Royce
    Coleman
    Kerr
    Rutten
    Wanderlei
    Nogueira
    Fedor
    Shogun
    GSP
    Anderson
    Jones
either Cain or JDS, we'll see, both head and shoulders above the rest of HWT, and perhaps HWT alltime

I agree with your thinking on this 100% and JDS versus Cain is going to be a war.

Any list without Frank Shamrock is a sham.

Royce was inactive in what you're recalling, same reason Bones surpasses GSP ever so-slightly since '10. More fights equals more wins.

Frank's era was impressive but short. I thought he was a shoe-in for the spot but he has a couple losses he probably shouldn't of had back then, putting Frank ahead of Severn or Frye is debatable.

    Read above and quit trolling.

Losses to John Lober, Yuki Kondo, and Rutten.

No he wasn't the best pre-2005. Just take a couple minutes and look.

Did that fly right over your head?

    Two words: Matt Hughes

True. I was gonna post Igor, but based on the parameters, I think Bas edges him out.
