This is the latest top 30 list with UFC Light Heavyweight fighters:

g_Ftr_RkTbl_U30_205.jpg

- in top 20 there just two fighters with 4 latest wins (W-W-W-W) - Bader and Rampage.
- Rashad is only fighter that has no fights in 2014/2015.

Let me know your thoughts.

Right now Jon Jones is suspended, but he is still keeping points that he accumulated before suspension.

Following graph includes all LHW fighters (suspended and outside of UFC) and shows how dominant Jon Jones still is:

There are 5 Bellator LHW fighters on that list.

Following graph shows how Current Score was changing in the last 4 years:

Isn't the top 30 basically the whole division...

WAR Glove.

damn the top ten is weak. I can't believe shogun is still top ten and also jackson is quite high. Lhw is definitely not stacked anymore, jones cleared it out

Edilov should be in top 30 (and will be in top 10 within 1 or 2 years).

I didn't know there was 30 LHWs in the UFC to begin with :D

I agree with your statement about LHW being weak.
We calculate score for each division and LHW is far behind top 4 divisions.

Right now it is tied with BW and still stronger than HW and FlyW.

I agree that Rashad is probably more skilled then most of the fighters in front of him.
But he needs to fight. We cannot keep him in top 5 forever.

This is current ranking that is based on what happened in fights and recent fights are more important than old fights.
We cannot rank based on how popular, liked or strong/skilled some fighter is.

In our algorithm we have time triggers that decrease value of previous fights after certain period of time.
This week Rashad hit one of those triggers and lost a lot of points. That moved him 5 spots down.
He has a fight in October and that is when he will move again.
If for some reason he is not fighting in October, he will continue sliding down.

Rules are rules and we cannot have exceptions for certain fighters.

Other examples of this inactivity point decrease are:

In 2013 T.J. Grant was supposed to fight for LW belt.
But now nobody remembers him anymore and he is currently ranked #41 LW.
He was injured and his last fight was on 25-May-2013

Chan Sung Jung was fighting for the FW belt in 2012 and now is no longer in the top 50.

Shogun needs to retire.

Mauricio Rua is still relatively young - 34 years.
He is still under 40 professional fights - 33 fights.
So, who are we to tell fighters when they should retire.

Yes Rua is not winning much lately, but he is still very active and fights good opponents.
Rashad had a last fight in Nov 2013, and Shogun had 4 fights in that timeframe (2-2).
It looks more like Rashad is retired.

Going back in time - Oct 2010 , before start of Jon Jones era.

Brazil always had great LHW fighters. At that time they had 2 top fighters.
What happened to Brazil LHW now?

Going back 4 more years and we have 5 Brazilians in top 5 and 7 Brazilians in top 10:

How many fighters from this 2006 top 20 list are still active?

Almost all Pride fighters from that list are now in UFC.
