Top 15 Vehicles Owners Keep for 15 Years or Longer

I see some Subaru Imprezas and Mitsubishi Lancer Evolutions here. Are those reliable? I shoulda bought one of those to pretend I'm Fast and Furious.
Evos are bulletproof if they're stock. The problem is, almost all of them are heavily tuned and that's when the problems start. Clean unmolested ones command a hefty premium.

First generation came out 1997, and I still see plenty of them around.

Subaru inspires cult like loyalty. Once a Subaru owner, you’ll always go back. I had a Subaru before I joined the Air Force, then went overseas and never needed a car. First car back as a civilian, I wanted a Subaru. My current Outback has saved my life several times now.
Umm, thanks? Been driving Subarus since 1987. But, hey.. you can tell me more if you want.

Had my Acura Integra GS for a long time. @Clementine @HI SCOTT NEWMAN

My 2014 corolla LE is fucking tit stock everything and I only need gas like once a month y'all sleeping on that corolla lifestyle

The unfortunate thing about this is that Toyotas are just so unpleasant to sit in...

@Sir Galahad
I only have 1 car now.. which I brought in 2018, its the Alfa Romeo Stelvio in color red. Love it.. great car so far, had it nearly 2 years and never had any issue or problem with it and it does not eat up gas like a monster either lol, its very very very kind on the gas which is a huge bonus of this car

Actually if you read internet reviews of this car it rarely mentions anything about the gas, but I swear I really noticed how kind on the gas this car is, I don't have to fill it up nowhere near as much as some of my previous cars.

I do like vintage 1970 cars... but I don't currently own any, I kept one for a long time but had to sell it a few years ago and it had so many problems too... requited a lot of work and fixing to it

Dat 'yota reliability ain't no joke. Hondas have a strong showing here but I've heard their recent cars have plummeted to American levels of quality. Time will tell if they remain on this list in another 5 years.

And here is the list for sports cars:

Surprised at this one. Thought the 911 be #1. And the M5 is notorious for horrible reliability.

Good stuff. I can vouche for some of it as I've always owned Toyota.
My first Toyota was a 5 speed Supra. While a story all by itself, lets just say it didn't make it to it's 15th birthday :p

lmao @ driving a 15 year old car.

Are you laughing because you think your goat is better?

There is zero stress when you own a 15 year old car compared to owning a new car.
I've been on both sides, and much prefer the stress free existence.

My old mechanic was private (not a dealership) and only did Honda/Acura. He was trashing the recent Honda's 2013 and up. He said he keeps getting inferior OEM parts from random asian countries and that the switch to both CVT and Fuel Injection tanked the reliablility (they had to do it to compete with gas mileage ratings).

He said the actual designs and engineering behind them are still solid but there having to use inferior parts to compete price wise (they haven't really been able to signficantly raise prices this decade do to competition so they have to skimp on parts to make up the cost difference)

Subaru in general are known for reliability, but you don't see too many on this list mainly for demographics than necessarily people not trusting their reliability.

Makes sense, and the reluctance to adopt new tech is a big reason why Toyota has such strong reliability. Their most reliable cars like the Tacoma and 4Runner have ancient drivetrains and terrible gas mileage but last forever. It's a tradeoff between the tried and true vs newer tech that promises better efficiency. Stricter emissions standards will force Toyota to use more turbos and hybrids which will lower their long term reliability.

How about those old ass Nissan trucks. I still see people rocking those

Yeah I could understand a highschool kid or some college kid that just needs to get around town driving a car that old but original owner not so much

My Honda I used to have I was the 2nd owner and I still got rid of it before 15 years. Ended up selling it at the 13 year mark for a decent price and only paid $4000 out of pocket to get a car 8 years newer with more features and half the miles

If I had kept it another 2 years I would of had to replace the entire suspenion, fix the power steering rod that was leaking (huge money pit) and do another set of tires/brakes.

2 years of depreciation + maintence would of cost me another $2500-3000 down the drain. For basically a $1000-1200 dollar difference i'm driving a car 8 years newer with better features and half the miles (moral of the story there is such things as keeping a car too long).

"Drive it till it dies" is garbage mentality. With that mentality i'd still have the Honda and in the long run would of saved ZERO money versus my current car that has more features, more re-sell value, and better mileage (cost differential is the exact same)

you sound poor
Google says the averages escort service charges 300, which seems high to me but I’ve been out the ho game for over a decade.

that’s two whores of your choice every month or a new Hyundai

So 24 women a year or a shitty hatchback
I mean... priorities
