Tool Guys, GTFIH…

We use Hilti at work. We have a contract with them. I prefer DeWalt, though.

Big Boy work…
<Dany07>

yes building a house is baby work. building a football stadium, or a skyscraper that is big boy work. its funny you think there is no difference.

Porter cable? Now I'm sure you're trolling.
the corded porter cable tigersaw is far superior to any other manufacture of its type. you cannot find a better wood router or handheld electric planer in north america than porter cable. do you work industrial construction? ive used milwaukee impacts and dewalts to impact down over 250k bolts building a bridge. neither hold up. but one lasts three times longer than the other. few years back build the seattle seahawks tacoma dome upgrades. fabbed up, welded and assembled a telescope for the university of arizona. ever built anything like that, and actually put power tools to the test?

So a porter cable impact will hold up to 250k bolts huh?

Too many posts making fun of other man's tools. There are good products across the manufacturers. Depends on what your projects are.

I'm mobile a lot, building shit at people's houses. We needed mobile tools too. Hence the reason for most of my shit being Milwaukee. But I have a Dewalt planer, Bosch routers & table, Ryobi nail guns & drill press.

250k STADIUM bolts. Apparently there's a difference between tightening a bolt holding a stadium together and other types of bolts.

I'm just not buying it, dude. Sorry

Specifically, which porter cable impact should I get? Im in the market

I’ve got a little of everything, dewalt, Milwaukee, Mikita, Bosch. I don’t use my stuff on a daily basis, that being said the only one that let me down was a porter cable cordless drill, the lithium battery died with no warning. I’ve been using Bosch drills and impact drivers without issue ever since. The Dewalt grinder I have is 20 years old and just keeps on going, I have a porter cable d/a sander that I used to sand a truck down, but use as a polisher on vehicles, it hasn’t skipped a beat.

He said dewalt for impacts. Porter cable for corded saws and shit

Want a real impact. Buy a snap on, or the Mac Branded upgraded Dewalt one.

All the tool trucks are carrying Milwaukee now since everyone wants there stuff because they make everything imaginable under the sun.

Shit breaks so much and is out for warranty repair so much I’m about to have to buy a second set of all my dewalt and snap on because it’s all being borrowed at work constantly and I have to go look for my shit to use it because everyone keeps buying g the. New fuel Milwaukee stuff and it’s always broken

<Lmaoo>

Makita man checking in. Millwaukee pack out in the van, thing is absolutely amazing. Lets me bring a ton of tools and hardware into small area without overwhelming the space with shit. Saves so many trips back to the van......never looked into the aftermarket accessories, thanks for the tip!

To all saying Milwaukee sucks I pose the question, what do you suggest? In my shop, every mechanic runs Milwaukee.

Honestly, while Milwaukee has been the pros choice for a minute. Makita and DeWalt aren’t that far behind in general tools. And performance wise Flex has been proving it belongs even though it’s a newcomer. Milwaukee benefits from the fact that they literally have a specialist tool for any situation which in turn leads buyers to say screw it and just adopt the whole platform. You give any of those other platforms as extensive a line up and the race becomes a lot closer.

A lot of truth in this statement. In reference to the above quote. When it comes to basic pro-sumer and DIY buyers, Milwaukee’s prices do make them suck. For those particular buyers, Ryobi might give you more productivity for your dollars. At Lowe’s, DeWalt would fill that void. It all depends on the buyers needs. I myself run a mix of PC, Kobalt, and Craftsman clones of DeWalts.

I just want to know what these people are doing to their tools! We have one old first gen dewalt 20v impact that has been beaten senseless and we’ve only had to repair the chuck which was about 20$. Are we not working hard enough? Hell our table saw is 12 years old and runs like a champ.
