Tony Pushing Training Too Far?

Did he join AKA?

It is being reported that Ferg tore a ligament because he tripped while walking and the injury was not training related.

yes

he can easily trip over stuff

he is no GSP

I said he was an inch away from a fight canceling injury.

People seemed to think I was being dramatic. I’m thinking I was ON THE FUCKING MONEY.

He blew out his knee this close to the biggest fight of his life. I’m sorry...He’s an idiot. This is beyond ridiculous. I’d be fine never having to hear this guy’s name again.

This is the biggest fail I’ve heard of in decades. Kicking pipe, and punching wood. WTG Tony you just played yourself out of the biggest payday of your life.

Yup. Multi million dollar fight right around the corner and he is doing stupid shit for the camera, and luls. What a waste of talent.

I think some of his methods are straight up retarded and that one video of his deadlift makes me yearn for back surgery but lets be real, this can happen to anyone in this and many other sports. I'm very annoyed that the fight won't happen but I'm not mad at Tony. Shit like this can always happen, dude is 34 after all. But I am a bit surprised he doesn't have more injuries considering his methodology.

I'd love to know what he did to blow out his knees tough. How do MMA fighters handle their training load 1 week before the fight? I'd imagine a lighter training with a bigger cardio and agility focus would be the go to but I could be wrong. If he was going full force so close to the fight, then yes, his decision making is suboptimal.

That is exactly what Sherdoggers call real fighters - someone who trains super hard but in an unprofessional and even dangerous manner without any regards for the career or payouts.

He was so close

Sure overtraining + weight cuting dosnt have anything to do with injurys happening outside the gym?

He supposedly tripped on a studio set and tore up his knee. What does that have to do with over training?

If this is true -- Tony out.

Then one must laugh out loud at the Irony of doing all that risky type of training only to trip and fall during his day to day motions.

For fuck's sake.
I had hesitation in believing this damn fight would happen.

If u train for the bigest fight in ur life its easy to over train. Over training + weight cuting are the best recepie for a fragile body. If u have a fragile body ur more likley to be clumsy and breake shit when u fall. Thers tons of evidence out there showing Tony doing potential harmfull things while training. Eddie also says that Tony trains like a crazy man. it happened outside the gym but thats not to say it had nothing to do with tonys preperations. It looked like u attributed the accident to something that was a 100% out of Tonys controll, if so I disagree.
