The ninth-ranked Ferguson is putting his six-fight winning streak on the line against undefeated third-ranked Khabib Nurmagomedov at “The Ultimate Fighter 22” finale on Dec. 11 in Las Vegas.

imo this is one of the toughest fights around for Khabib to make his return. Very tough. I would have favored him more against almost anyone else.

Yeah, I totally agree. Tough fight for Khabib coming off the injury. I could definitely see Ferguson beating him here.

This is good match making IMO, and it should be a great fight, and a fantastic opportunity to showcase two guys who could be future title challengers.

EDIT: I voted Khabib, but won't be surprised if Ferguson takes it. The loser of this fight shouldn't be too far off from another opportunity at the belt.

That was unexpected.

I think this is an extremely good match-up style wise. Ferguson isn't a great boxer but he does have an all around great technique, which will test Khabib's "MMA striking" expertise.

If Ferguson doesn't get thrown around the whole fight anyway.

 

At first I was pissed they wanted to match two potential title challengers, but it makes sense since Khabib is coming back from a long layoff and injury. See, Cain, that's how you do it.

 

Well, Pettis has been asking for him. I wouldn't be too surprised if we see that.

I think Khabib takes it. Castillo dominated Ferguson on the mat and Khabib has easily avoided the threats of strikers like Trujillo and the submission game of guys like Healy and RDA.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if Ferguson wins it though.

I really like Ferguson, he's well-rounded and deserve this. Khabib will win though.

 

Khabib will win, but fuck I'd rather see an exciting fighter like Ferguson climb the ranks instead of a blanket.

Not that I have anything against Khabib. He's just not the most exciting guy in the world.
