Tony Ferguson vs Dan Hooker

It was a logical fight 2 years ago where a win for either of them would have done a lot. I think Tony probably wins 4 out of 5, even this version of Tony.

Like the match up but dont want this fight to happen. Both guys desperatly need a win and loser basicly retires from the UFC.

Yea because Tony is still surging and at his peak
Who cares. Tell me Dan hooker has had any sort of performance like Tony's first round against Chandler and I'll agree.
They've both been finished now, hooker multiple times. Out of the two, hooker looks much worse.

My point was you're silly acting like either guy is a lock

Dan hooker is washed as fuck while never being all that good in the first place
Tony is on the decline while putting on a good perfomance last time out.
Definitely no locks, but Tony should be a favorite in that hypothetical matchup and rightfully so

Tony was never that good in the first place either.

Why was his performance against Chandler that good? He landed a flash knockout on a guy who is very hittable and pretty chinny, then got mauled for the rest of the round on the ground.

Hooker's effort against Dustin was better than anything Tony has done against the top of the division outside of when he beat RDA, but even then, he easily lost the 1st round and would've lost the second as well if RDA wasn't seeing double from Tony eye poking him.

11 fight win steak
Interim champ, which should have been undisputed, but McGregor was champ then so it got stretched
Wins over multiple former champions
Where is he overrated exactly? A time he was arguably the best in the world and I don't even like that guy. What a stupid statement.

You can't be fucking serious.

An 11 fight win streak isn't the same when it's made up of washed fighters, short notice replacements, and overall lesser comp.

He has 2 wins over former champs, but only one of them was remotely close to good at the time. Or do you think Pettis, who hadn't strung together 2 wins in a row for the previous 4 years, and had gone 3-5 in that time, was somehow elite? He was not.

And against RDA he was losing until the eye poke changed the fight. RDA lost the 2nd round thanks to that, but then came back to win the 3rd. Then he slowed down and Tony won the final 2. He barely scraped by RDA, and if RDA hadn't been seeing double in the 2nd round, Tony would have likely lost 3-2.

Ferguson ever being "arguably the best in the world" at any point is a fucking joke. Literally, his best win is RDA, who, again, lost the most important round because he could barely see.

It's easy to look good and go on a streak when you're fighting washed fighters and lower level competition, but even then, did he really look good? He was getting dropped by guys like shot Pettis and short notice Lando among others. Lots of his fights saw him taking over after a foul as well.

He finally stopped fighting lower ranked, washed fighters and started fighting up in the rankings and we saw what happened. He went 0-4 and in all of those fights he only won a single round while losing multiple 10-8s.

His cardio and athleticism hasn't changed at all. He's still as good an athlete as ever, but his skills were never at an elite level, neither on the feet or the mat. This has been proven without a doubt now.
