Yancy Medeiros has won his last 3 fights, with 2 TKOs and a sub.

Donald Cerrone has lost his last 3 fights, 2 TKOs and a decision.

Interesting bout.

The Cowboy is a TV card main eventer.

I've never been impressed by Yancy other than his ability to take a punch.

I don't think his winstreak means much unless Cerrone is done. He doesn't really have great hands (Cerrone's kryptonite) and hasn't done better at LW or WW than Cowboy has.

Cerrone by either TKO or sub, by the 3rd round.

I wouldn't waste my time on this fight or card.

but those 3 losses were at WW not his normal weight of LW...

I'll take Yancy here. Cowboy burned the candle too bright. In the last five years, this will be his 20th fight. That's on average a fight every 90 days for 5 years. Cowboy has serious mileage at this point.

As much as I agree with TS,

1. It's on free basic cable, and
2. I'm on vacation tomorrow

Therefore I will watch, enjoying food and many beers in the process.

Cerrone is almost like a 90s Honda, mileage is meaningless when judging the condition

Cowboy should have this fight, if the Cowboy we love and know shows up and is 100% ready to bang. His skills are superior, to put bluntly.

However he is carrying some bad momentum into this bout. But he is a professional, one of the most composed, calm and relaxed dudes in the cage. For him this is fun.

There is absolutely no reason for Cowboy to lose this fight on a skill for skill matchup basis

Doesn't mean he won't manage to do it anyways though

I didn't even know there was a UFC event tonight LOL im such a damn casual

Alternate viewpoint: tonight's main event is, win or lose, one of the most exciting big-show fighters in MMA history vs someone who will likely oblige him in violence.

Tremendous post

Two other things to consider:

Yancy almost got finished in his last fight.

Cowboy kind of got robbed in his fight vs Lawler.

I'm rootin for Cerrone in this one.
I don't really want to go by MMAth, but just comparing each of their fights with the other Cowboy, Cerrone wins.
Cerrone could lose though, he's inconsistent.
