So I met an older (early 60's) muslim man in Malaysia who had three wives, and asked him how does he handle the daily chore of taking care of all three. He was preparing a large pot of ginseng bark known tongkat ali. He had the entire tree root with him, and was boiling chips from it in his cauldron. He gave me a glass full and it tasted very bitter. He did not tell what it was or where had gotten it, just that simply it was how he retained his daily strength to insure that his wives were happy. A few days later at a Chinese tourist gift shop they were seling packs of the chips so I picked up a 3 pack. I usually make it as a tea in morning, as it is supposed to lower blood pressure and prevent diabetes.

An interesting side effect though it's ability to boost male testoserone. I have taken month long cycles of pure tribulous in the past, which varies by individual, and seen minimal results, but I have to say that after boiling one chip of the malaysian ginseng known Tongkat Ali every morning, and drinking two small pots of the tea for a week, I have had much better power and stamina at the gym, especially with upper body workouts, and my stamina and breathing abilty has increased immensley in San Da. One side effect is that it apparently weakens the immune system, and I did happen to catch a cold for 3 days, but aside from that I see this as a great natural supplemet that I will continue to use, so long as I can find it in root form, and for an inexpensive price.

Has anyone had experience with supplement beofre, and what were your thoghts, results, side effects?

It works and I also use the pure roots. Here in Thailand you can buy the grounded roots so the product is 100%. I noticed an increase in my stamina both in running and sex. I think it's the blood flow that it targets. I never experienced any side effects other than the bad taste. I also take a variety of plant roots that grow in Thailand/ South-East Asia that boost male testosterone. The pure products work but the American commercial products (like herbal pills) don't. Good choice sticking with the root form.

Disclaimer: My sex stamina was fine before I started consuming the roots. Just needed to put that out there, LOL.
 
Whoa! Where'd all you guys come from? Haha I figured coming in here that someone would be ranting about fish oil, milk and squats and instead find out that a couple of you guys actually take and support this stuff! Anyone have any studies or anything? Where can these roots be obtained? AND it makes my sex life better?

Initial excitement aside, I really have been quite interested in Eastern medicine (Vedic, holistic kind of stuff) and philosophy and would like to know more about this Ginseng root bark. I'm not the kind of person who buys something because in India people take it and live to be 300, but I do find these "alternative" methods to be quite intriguing and at least worth checking out. Isn't that what Cissus was before being turned into a pill and sold as a supliment?
 
Epmidium, mucuna pruriens have seemed to work for me. I've yet to try Tongkat.

I don't like either of those, Muira Pauma and Damiana ftw

Tongkat is expensive in the UK so I've not tried it
 
I take squats milk and fish oil every day and drink the blood of those who merely use ginseng.
 
I tried it in a capsule and it is some weak shit. It's not considered a top aphrodisiac.
 
The capsule forms are not actual Tongkat Ali. In order to reap the benefits of this root, you have to have to actual horticulture, and it is really only affordabable unless you are in Southern Asia. I made the thread to promote Tongkat Ali because It was very powerful as an athletic and aphrodesiac supplement. I know a lot of people on these forums head to Asia to train, and while there, it is a great natural supplemet to take advantage of.
 
I tried a decent amount of supplements in my early training days, and other than creatine, beta-alanine, and dex/malto/hydrolyzed whey after lifting (if you consider that a supplement), Tongkat Ali was the only one that really worked. Recovery was up, strength was increasing steadily, as did lean mass. Confidence and aggression under the bar was improved. Also bodyfat decreased.
