James -- fat as usual

Couture -- cut and ripped as usual

If there was a way that Couture could put Toney in a fat-lock or an fat-bar I wish he could invent one for this fight.

Listen to the two of them talk. They have to put sub-titles under what James says and he is speaking English!.....he even talks lazy.

My guess was right. 237.
Don't know why Shertards thought he would be under 215.

yeah he's fat as usual but he can also fight the full 12 rounds...unlike alot of UFC fellas who gets gassed out.

About what I was thinking he be. I was guessing 240. I just hope he puts up a fight. I want to see him go crazy and do something stupid when he is on his back, like fish hook, eye poke or maybe even try a rape choke. That would make my day.

He was 233 for the first Sam Peter fight and fought very well, so i don't think it will make too much of a difference. He should be lighter though.

True (though I dont think Randy is one of them). Ya have to keep in mind though, for a pure striker the grappling aspect is very exhausting (just like for a pure grappler the striking aspect is very exhausting). Will he still have the conditioning to go 12 rounds with every aspect thrown in?

I got a question and this is the first Toney thread I saw. Has there ever been a boxer/striker win when facing a grappler. I seen video on you to showing expo of matches and read that John Sullavan lost to his trainer(who was a Gecro roman champ or something) in a match but I question if that was legit. But are they any expample of the boxer winning.

He did not look like he was in shape.

Cro cops early mma fights are a good example, he beat Mark Coleman pretty much just with his boxing, i think he only threw like 1 leg kick in that fight. MCPaulBurman posted a video of Shonie Carter getting KO'd by a boxer in an MMA fight. Jeremy Williams was a boxer that went 5-0 in MMA although i've never seen his fights.

237 not bad he's in decent shape

Not really.

237 is as high as Toney has ever weighed for a bout. He's never weighed more than this... and it's not as if he's packed on muscle or this is a last minute fight.

What makes it worse is that in his last boxing bout a year ago he looked like he'd finally got serious and came in at 217lbs... I mean honestly... he almost had abs.

lol that wasnt an early fight. A good example would be Cro Cop/Fujita 1 or Crocop/Takada(it was a draw but CC was clearly the winner).

Ok thanks guys. I was just wondering cause every time I type it into YouTube it keep showing this old ass video of a wrestler taking down some boxer.

Oh, it's been awhile since i watched that one.

But regardless of when it took place, it was still a great display, you could see this helpless look on Colemans face after Mirko defended a couple of his takedowns that said "oh shit i'm gonna have to stand up with this guy!" and that was the beggining of the end. I doubt Toney will be able to do that to Couture because he's so much shorter and fatter. Couture doesn't really shoot double leg takedowns these days anyway so he might not even need to sprawl.

^^ I really wish soccer kicks were legal in the UFC. Remember what Cro Cop did to Ron Waterman? I want to see Toney kicking an ankle-picking Couture

but yeah I know what you mean by that fight. He just kept Coleman in his punching distance and just kept him there till Coleman fell faceflat in the corner

In a real MMA fight Toney would be able to stomp, soccer kick or knee Randy after knocking him down. But UFC's rules favor the wrestlers and protects them from that kind of thing.

Off the top of my head:

Hunt/Bobbish
Maurice Smith/Coleman
Rizzo/Coleman (although very controversial)
Vitor/Tank (Tank kept trying for takedowns)
Rizzo/Barnett (although Barnett stood more than he should have done)
Rizzo/Monson (x2)
Igor's win (and his NC) over Kerr
Goodridge over Bobbish
Jeremy Williams over Charles Jones
Manhoef vs Sakuraba
M. Thompson over Tengiz
Hunt over TK
J. Thompson over Tengiz
Draggo over Tengiz
Kongo over Al-Turk

I'm sure if I put some thought into it and went over tapes I'm sure I could find a load more.

See this is the first video that pops up every time i type in Boxer vs grappler.

Just watched the weight in.... He's fat as shit!, I stand corrected. Was he really 217 in his last bout??? He was against Evander in 03 I think
