As a guy who has read a few of the LeStat books, TC played this shit almost perfectly.

If you don't vote Edge of Tomorrow or Collateral, you suck.
 
Didnt the author hate the casting? Same as Jack Reacher. Casting someone 5' 6" in these roles was a stretch.

Anne The Great did in fact hate that the studio opted with Mr. Top Gun, but her recommendation was an older European guy who was only know in the Euro Indy scene which couldn't have possibly been supported. But she said in an interview that Tom turned out to be a good choice so she changed her mind (probably coached by the producers). Still, the true Anne Rice fans generally love TC's portrayal of LeStat.

Trivia: Tom had to stand on a box when performing scenes with Brad Pitt (who also did a great job as Louis).
