Tom Aspinall wants to fight 4x/year during his HW reign

Nor did I say they were. I was wondering if he changed his mind on being the greatest HW of all time or not. Because when I heard Ariel's interview I was disappointed because he has such good prospects for becoming the best HW ever and if he now had changed his tune on that I would be ecstatic. After browsing around in the video I couldn't find anywhere he talked about this unfortunately.
He's said in older interviews he wants to be the best HW to ever do it.
He could be that without more defences than Jon (LHW/HW).

He literally says, "The next guy I fight is going to be the most dangerous guy...I've got a date and an opponent." He says that in the first 10 seconds of the video. How stupid are you?
when is the date and who is the opponent?

Aspinall “fans” going to have a rude awakening when they realize how active he actually is

What he wants and what will happen are not the same thing. I get it, he wants to make as much money as he can while he can, smart. First the UFC has to want him to fight that often. Second he has to stay that healthy and not get hurt during a fight. Last his opponents have to be ready to go. Right now 2 maybe 3 times in a year at tops.

Aspinall “fans” have spent “years” telling us his inactivity is “just Jon’s fault”.

They’re understandably confused that now that Jon is retired Aspinall still doesn’t have a fight.

What is with this dumb idea that that the UFC wants the heavier champions inactive? You do realize their own rules dictate heavier champions headline right? You think they want lighter champs headlining? It’s set up by weight for a reason as big fighters are big fights (genrerally).

The heavier a champ the more they know they have to headline a card. That also means they can put someone lighter underneath them too and make super cards if they want to. Can’t make a super card with a FLW title fight.

Heavier champs can headline cards on their own or stack them. Lighter champs can only give you more lighter champs.

The UFC would love to throw a HW or LHW title fight on every shitty lower or female card. It’s why they loved Pereira fighting every few months. He had to headline and make you watch their otherwise lame PPV option.

Jones fans proving once again they're almost as smart as Jon Jones. Literally the video that the thread is based on says Aspinall is BOOKED.

Yeah I’m sure the UFC didn’t announce their new HW title fight during IFW and are instead waiting for Lewis/Texeira or whatever the fuck. They’re totally keeping it under wraps when they’ve got nothing announced 2 months from now.

Oh and congrats. I said all along Tom would fight on the same timeline against Jones or whoever no matter what. Because I can actually look at calendars and see existing schedules and camp requirements alike all the “fans” who demanded Jones be stripped ASAP because they moronically thought that could make Tom fight sooner. October or November always made sense, not idiots complaining Tom would suddenly fight in July if Jon wasn’t in his way.

If Jon had retired in November like he said he was going to--like he now says he did, but just didn't tell anyone--Tom would have fought this summer. Jon caused the delay, there's not any other way to look at it. And they announce the shit in order, so in a month or two.

Ask Dana. Tom's not allowed to announce it officially, but will be in October or November, it will be against Cyril Gane. Ok?
Even if you think Gane is the best choice, there no way he's "the most dangerous." If Tom has reasonable cardio then Gane would have no realistic path to victory, and if Gane has any lingering effects from his injury he'll probably just embarrass himself if he's the designated victim.

Career wise that'd be his smartest move. He'll never get his true value in the UFC imo, I don't get the vibe that they really know how to properly promote him or care to. They still really wish Jon didn't retire and he was the guy they could promote as undisputed HW champ.

I get the same impression. Which is pretty odd if you think about it. The UFC seem desperate for English stars, even Bisping got a major push, and now Paddy of course.
