Media Tom Aspinall Gives Update Regarding Jones Fight “Big news coming.”

Sounds good for Tom. Either he has a date with Jones to be announced or UFC has decided when the next HW title fight happens, with or without Jones. Both will be good end results, to be honest. As long as the divison sorts itself out from the title/interim limbo, I'll be happy with everything.

Tomorrow: "Dana White announces Tom Aspinall being promoted to Undisputed Interim Champion, will continue to defend"

Ppl are almost hoping it's not JJ, trying their best to say JJ doesn't want that fight at all... Because they fear a lot, but a lot, that if JJ takes the fight and prepares for 6 months, that JJ will win and they will all look like fools lol

So...how exactly did you come to this weird conclusion?

Damn, the Jones haters are NOT going to like this
Seeing Jones brutally koed for the first time?
I am a Jones hater and I am salivating just over the tought.
I am going to love it man...
Selling the house so I can bet it :)

I hope Tom doesn't fall for this 6 months bullshit.

Because in 6 months time there could be an injury/pullout and it will be the HW division being held up yet again.

This is even worse than the Conor situation with FW.

What I want to see happen next:
UFC 318
UFC HW Championship Bout:
Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall

What I expect will happen after tons and tons of constant talking and interviews:
UFC 318
UFC HW Championship Bout:
Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic 2

UFC 318
UFC HW Bout:
Tom Aspinall vs Curtis Blaydes 3

Sounds like he went to one of those mental programming WME public relations and promotions camps where they tell the fighters they need them constantly hyping the company and selling some unnamed big fight that's looming in the future.

I think that UFC have told Jones it's Aspinall or nobody and also that they'll strip him if he doesn't decide and sign in the next month or two.

Jon doesn't want to fight Aspinall at all so yes I think he will be (maybe) ALLOWED to retire and save face rather than be stripped of the HW belt.

The Jon Jones era is 98% over. Its either got 1fight left to go or zero fights left to go.
UFC know this so they've now about to switch to the 'Tom Aspinall ' era.

I ldo believe they've made Jones a v big $$ offer and told him to take it or leave it, there is no more negotiation, not 1 dollar more.

Nobody thinks that. Sad projection by you. If Jones beats Tom, we got to see the fight we all want to see. Well...maybe not you. But the rest of want to see it regardless of who wins.

Story is definitely getting that "Girlfriend from camp" vibe

Except we have an interim fucking champ that absurdly defended an interim title. This isn't Chandler chasing a $ fight with Conor. This is the interim champ that's beaten 5 consecutive top 10 opponents by KO in the first round that...you know...thinks it's probably time to unify the belts. And the champ who allegedly "doesn't care at all" about the interim champ (but oddly starts chants about him at his dumpster boxing league) not being willing to commit to a damn thing.

Do you think Dana finally clued in he's been getting cucked by a guy who's fucking him over too? Who does Dana actually answer to now? Did Dana get sat down??

I'm inclined to believe Tom. The guy does not have a history of lying behind him like Jon or Dana. I don't think he's dumb enough to spill the beans, and I suspect both sides were given a narrow window before it gets announced. It is starting to seem like Dana, or someone, just put both sides on notice the undisputed title fight's at MSG this year come hell or high water, just to put an end to all this nonsense.

But what can he do in this case?? I think this 6 month is more about targeting a bigger event than actually needing 6 months to get ready. It's either the Sphere in Sept or MSG in Nov
