TODAY ONLY: Kingdom of Heaven: The Director's Cut in Theatres.

The studio cut is shit but heard from many of my fellow Christian soldiers that the DC is solid. Later Scott is always a gamble though. Will probably just pick up the physical release here soon instead. Thx for the heads up though TS.

1st half is really good kind of boys down after that. Great first half tho

I can't say whether people will like it or not. It's very long. But the director's cut is notorious for being one of the most improved edits of a movie ever. Something like 45 minutes longer.

There's a behind the scenes documentary where editor Dody Dorn is being told to slash scenes in order to make a new shorter theatrical cut, which is the version most have seen. One of her quotes was:

”We were kind of stripping things out of the film at large, which was diminishing the sophistication".
- Editor Dody Dorn

The original did seem to have gaps that required re-watching to figure out what just happened which is a sure sign of heavy handed editing to shorten a movie . Looking forward to the Directors Cut .

It is a good movie that accurately portrays El Saladin as a generous victor as he defeated the crusaders and captured Jerusalem

What's in theatres today is the same new restoration that will later be coming to 4K.

Any idea what the The Roadshow Cut is? Apparently similar to the recent release of Tombstone they only printed 11 copies as they’re both sold out even though they were ridiculously overpriced.

I always quote Jeremy Irons character- Tiberius - when he first meets Balian.

"It's true."

You just looked him in the eye and confirmed that he is the son of a brawny, 6'4 Lord?

Just letting you know. A rare opportunity.

Is this a sneaky Jesus movie? Like it's a regular movie except the real purposes is to get a religious message across.

Have you ever watched a movie on Netflix and part way through you get the feeling something is off. Then you slowly start to realize it's a religious movie. I call this a sneaky Jesus movie.

The exact same thing as the director’s cut, only with an overture and intermission.

So basically when the movie was on the road, music would play as you’d settle into your seats. Also after about 100 minutes there was a well-timed break to go to the washroom.
