He has the most strikes landed in the UFC, and the same number of submission attempts as BJJ wizard Demaian Maia.

He's landed the 4th most significant strikes in UFC history, and a significant strike defense of 73.1%

and those stats are while he's fighting top contenders in one of the most stacked divisions ever, cleaning his division out twice.

GSP made top contenders look like amateurs. Guys knew his game plan and couldn’t do anything to stop it.

The only lay n pray going on was his opponent laying on his back, praying for a stand up.

even if he lost whatever fight he takes next, all it would show is that he's out of prime after TWO acl surgeries.

he is great but most logical people know he is using. same with anderson but anderson is a given 2x failed drug tests same with jones and lesnar!

romero has a failed drug test but only his hardcore huggers think it was a accident.
 
That stat is useless when you go to decisions every fight for 10 years.
 
All those accomplishments don't mean a lot to some of the sherdog couch potatoes. Lol.

GSP was a classy champion and actually defended his title against contenders. He deserves respect and he will go down as one of the greats for sure.

He wouldn’t have nearly as many strikes or submission attempts if he was finishing guys.

I’m not sayin he’s not a good fighter. That would be stupid. But it seems pretty obvious he played it safe. I don’t see how you can defend that.

Coming back after so long and knocking Bisping out like he did, though. That was bad ass.

It’s nkt that he couldn’t finish he just didn’t.

He always wanted the challenger to bring the fight to him. He thought it was thier job to try and finish him and as champion defended against that. And gave them as much time as they had to try.

It’s his mindset. Wrong or right it’s how it is.

Ask your self this , how many decisions does he have as a title challenger himself? The answer? None. All title challenges are finishes on his record.

Expecting fighters to blow everyone out of the water when they reach the top of the game is just not realistic. It is a lot harder to put people away in the ring than the average joe might think. It is not a video game.
 
All stats aside, of all the many years I ordered, hosted, and watched UFC ppv's, I can only remember 3 times that my company fell asleep. 1 of those times was Machida vs Henderson, the other 2 were GSP fights, take that how you want.

And as a challenger, he had a lot more finishes.
