Feel like some breakfast?
There is certainly an argument to be made for it. I used to think it was the best. But I hadn’t really seen all of DS9, only some episodes when it was on in the 90s. But DS9 was too ahead of its time. Much of it had an overarching plot line, which involved many serial episodes, something that TV shows didn’t really do until the 2000s.
So, I went back and watched DS9 on Netflix so I could binge on it. My conclusion is that DS9 is the best. It just beats out TNG, but blows all the others out of the water.
I loved it, but I haven’t seen DS9 and some of the others.
i'm working my way through the beginning of it. slow start but interesting
It is by far the best
Yes, it is a bit slow at first. All the Star Treks usually are though. A lot of the slow start is just kind of setting up the characters and giving them all a baseline narrative so that their development can take place over the course of the show.
i like quark
Quark is absolutely awesome.
I’m not even going to try to change your mind. It’s indisputably the best. That being said, DS9 is damn good and TOS (in particular the first season and first third of season 2) and Voyager are both very good. Haven’t watched all of Enterprise or any of Discovery.
Is there a better character than data in any of the series? Quark and Odo are great together.
I like TOS the best.
Spock was a pretty good character in TOS. TOS only really focused on Kirk, Spock and McCoy. There was the occasional Scotty centred episode, but there were never any episodes focused on Sulu, Chekhov or Uhura. TOS wasn’t like TNG where there’d be the occasional Geordi episode or the occasional Dr. Crusher episode etc.
Honestly as well I think people tend to view TOS in the light of the 80's films that gave considerably more weight to the lead characters, I would still say Wrath of Khan represents the best thing produced under the Trek banner.
TNG is probably the most consistently good series after the dodgy start under Robbenberry, DS9 could probably lay claim to having episodes on the same level at its peak but always had a few questionable ones mixed in even after its own dodgy start.
You only like it because of Q.
Q is also the shit
Seriously TNG might be the GOAT show, ever.
I mean if you consider anything with under ten seasons it is a damn fine show. I couldn’t argue it being in anyone’s top ten. I mean you’ve got some great shows but I rewatched all of these like three times minimum now and I still love it. I haven’t rewatched anything else that much. I have rewatched a few justified episodes and still enjoy it. Favorite scene in a show to date was when he first meets choo choo. Guy gets out and is like seven feet tall. Raylan just goes well god damn
