Pretty crazy in retrospect. I feel bad cause the fight couldve been more competitive but it seems like Garbrandt totally blew it by fighting emotionally and senselessly brawling instead of following a gameplan and picking his shots/using his speed and boxing advantage

Cody's yes men aren't doing him any favors. His uncle is his boxing coach. TAM has never had a good striking coach since Duane and even Kampmann left.

It reminded me of that punch you could level up on the first undisputed game and just spam it all fight .

The Just Bleed Gods are pleased with Cody's performance at least.

Lmao look at Cody keep loading up for the haymaker each time too instead of tightening up the hook. Something about the definition of insanity

"Ow... ok I got him this time, Ow... ok I got him this time... OW... OK "

    *drops as brain shuts off*

When Danny Castillo and Chris Holdsworth are your coaches, following a gameplan is secondary to being a bro

If at 1st you don't succeed, try, try again and then get the KD.

Cody like opened his mouth dropped his hands and spammed these shitty little punches eating the same counter over and over. Such a weird thing to do - how did he not learn from the first fight, or even the first time he got countered in the rematch.

Pissed. Robbed us of a good fight tbh

It's pretty cool to see just how narrow the margins were.

Just like last time, Cody was knocked down while in the process of throwing his right hand.
TJ is just a split second faster and moves a little bit better and less predictably.

For whatever reason Cody rose to the occasion

And I think it was the first time Cruz fought a guy just as long as him

It's not often in today's UFC you see a guy bite down and throw 3 right hands in a row, letalone land all 3.

Agree, Cody needs a new camp. The game plan and mental preparation for this fight were awful. Cody's camp had to know that TJ was looking to counter his overhand right, shit most of Sherdog knew. How in the hell was he not prepared to address this?

Garbrandt could have done himself alot of favors if he played more of a distance game. His boxing is great. The attribute he has over TJ imo is SPEED. If he used straight punches instead of trading hooks with TJ all fight he could have found some good shots in there.

Was rooting for TJ though, pretty satisfying to watch.

Where are all the casuals and bandwagoners that said he had the best boxing in the UFC?
