Was watching the Barao/MacDonald fight from Feb of last year. Anik and Florian were going over the rankings. Dillashaw wasn't even ranked in the top 10 back then. Going from that to winning the title, in just over a year is really incredible.

Anyways, just wanted to point that out. WAR TJ!

Crazy how fast he's risen. Dillashaw's debut in the UFC.com Rankings was on May 27, 2013.

The top ten rankings are a farce.

Crazy how a virtual nobody can become the man in MMA. Awesome to see the underdog win.

To be honest, before he fought for the title, I barely remembered who he is. Obviously he has been vastly improving his game.

It's weird seeing how drastic the division has changed.

I agree. Faber, Macdonald, and Barao were still occupying 3 of the Top 5 positions a year ago. Jorgensen and Pickett moved down to 125. Bowles and Menjivar are out altogether, and Assuncao is #3. Wineland and Easton are exactly where they were a year ago.

I didn't know who he was until the fight with Barao was announced.

    Crazy what he did.

Pretty crazy, Bowles, Jorgensen, Menjivar, and Pickett are all pretty much gone from the Top 10 now. Wineland and Easton are barely hanging on as well.

The division hasn't gotten much better since a year ago. Sometimes makes me think combining Flyweight and Bantamweight wouldn't have been a bad idea. Sean Shelby needs to build up some of the new talent. Guys like Chris Holdsworth, Aljamain Sterling, Sheymon Moraes, Marlon Moraes, Pedro Munhoz, etc. are ready to take the next step.

Yeah that's the reason why the betting lines were so skewed, if I was a little more confident I would have probably put some money on him. But I kept thinking no matter how good the odds, it was barao he was against so I didn't. I was however telling my friends that it would most likely be a better fight than barao's last few one sided fights.

Unfortunately, same here. Haven't really followed much lately, but checked out the fight knowing that Barao is supposed to be this pound for pound world beater. TJ did damn good!

And most people (including myself) didn't give him a chance against Barao.

    Really great underdog story.

Wineland was just KO'd, Barao was KO'd, Jorgensen and Pickett are gone, Bowles is MIA, Dillishaw is now champion. Yeah, I'd say its changed quite a bit.
