Whether or not it wins fights is up to the judges, since you aren't going to finish a fight running away the whole time.
The best analogy i could come up with is "camping" in fps games. Sure, it can be effective. But if both sides camp, no game actually takes place.
If TJ runs away from dom at the same time Dom is running away from him, no fight takes place whatsoever.
That decision is going to fuck up mma. You cant reward constant back pedaling like that. You are going to end up with "fights" where noone wants to move forward and engage. Fighters are going to be practicing backpedaling and dancing instead of imposing your will and striking because apparently judges like it better.
If shittly styles get rewarded you end up with shitty fights.
Condit beat Lawler. TJ beat Dom. There has to be some reward for not being afraid of the fight and running away the whole time, and not only as a tiebreaker.
This isn't about rock em sock em.....its about rewarding timidity over rewarding courage and grit.
