He says that at 5:48 of this. How did that happen?
He came on as a late replacement. Early UFC was the Wild West. Even later on when K1 had MMA event fighters weren't paid
Bringing that business savvy to his career as Cyborg's manager.
It paid off in the long run
Said something about he was in college and could not accept a purse. I think, its been a while.
He had to fight for free to keep his amateur status for wrestling in college.
I wonder why that is, when football players (Deion Sanders) played minor league baseball while in college and got paid and was still an amateur for football with the Seminoles.
Anyone know why Deion was allowed to retain his amateur status for football while being paid for another sport professionally but Tito wouldn't be allowed to retain his amateur status as a wrestler if he was paid to participate in a different sport?
well I doubt he would have got much anyway
I blame Dana
Tito is one of the only ones until this day that made a purse of 1 million in a UFC fight
I remember that fight... he was a late minute fill in for someone... He was part of Tank's team and they pulled him in as an alternate.
Good shit man, I can't stand Tito but I give him respect
Tito's actually a pretty good guy who's worked through his personal demons. Guys can either take a turn for the bad or good and it seems like he keeps turning toward the right direction even with all the mistakes.
Was always a Tito fan since the beginning.
Yeah I know, it all worked out. But it's still fun to take shots at Tito.
This is true, the guys a warrior.
Most likely because baseball/football are distinctly different sports while wrestling/MMA overlap heavily.
He would have blown it on a porn star anyway.
Same here, actually got to meet him a few different times and he was very cool. That made it cool being a fan of his because some of these guys can be dicks when you meet them.
I'm glad you mentioned that. I've had the pleasure of meeting him twice and he really does go out of his way for his fans. First time was years ago at the House of Blues in Hollywood. He was walking out with his then wife (not Jenna) and he got noticed by a few people who had asked him for pics/autographs. You could tell his wife was tired and was pushing him to just go back to the car, but he turned around to her and said "these fans pay our bills honey, we'll leave soon".
