Title fight earned= good fight?? WTF

I keep reading on the boards "im not watching this fight the title shot wasnt even earned"

I feel regardless if the fight was earned if tis good its good.

So honestly who the f really cares???????

Do you have a peronal stake in the standings of the division are you a training partner memeber of that fighters gym an employee of Zuffa inc????????

So why do you even wath mma?

I though it was about good fight, technique and fighter foils.(grudge matches etc)

Im about to get some in and out you shertards talk it over and ill brb.

The real question is do you "wath" MMA?
 
There are other contenders who would give more interesting fights and who might lose their shot because of this fight.
 
No matter the situation, people will find something to bitch about.

how about the fact that it's a complete mismatch on top of it all?
 
You bring up a good point that there does not seem to be a high correlation between legitimately earned title fights with good exciting fights.

That said, I do think there is a very high correlation between people bitching and complaining with the number of posts on a message forum.
 
I will watch the fight regardless, but, if you're gonna have titles, and rankings, thenthe higher ranked fighters in each weight class should be fighting vs the title holders...having said that, Sonnen2 2 fights with Anderson and this one vs Jones are good for the UFC imo, they'll draw in new fans, widen the sports appeal a bit. I'd rather have not seen Machida Hendo fight, and have this fight being Hendo/Jones, but such is life.
 
Some people complain because they love MMA and want to shell out $60 for the fights, but are worried that the main event will suck. Of course, the sport is crazy and you never know what can happen. But people are going to get pissed if the Bones lands a standing guillotine 45 seconds into the fight.

Then you have the purest who want to see the best fight. Chael didn't even pretend to earn a shot by beating a few guys at 205 first.

Now don't get me wrong TS. I will be watching tomorrow. But for this one, I will watch it for free at the bar.
 
Most of the people saying that steal the fights anyways
And they will be watching cause they got nothing else to do on a lonely Saturday night

I personally will order this for the undercard and to see how fast Jones destroys Sonnen

People complained that Brock got a title shot after going 1-1 in the UFC. Then, even though he won the title fight, people still complained that he didn't deserve it. Then he defended the title successfully, and people still complained that he didn't deserve to be there to begin with it. Then he successfully defended the title again and people still complained about him ever getting a title shot to begin with.

People also find a way to complain about the fact that Jon Jones has long arms.

to compare these 2 situations is laughable.

the whole brock title shot "farce" has been debunked and isn't nearly as dubious as this joke of a fight.

I agree completely. I just find it comical that everybody is complaining about a fight that seemingly everybody wants to see.

but that was the point of the post, no? even in that situation people still complained, ie you cannot please everyone

Alot of these fights have already happened.

ah, generally speaking.

but, i'm not convinced that "everybody" wants to see this fight.

the rest of the main card is decent, only reason why I would tune in.

did this season of tuf break any sort of records? i didn't hear much about it and the lack of drama seems to have short-circuited the promotional efforts the ufc put into this fight.

One of the few valid opposing points.

In regard to seeing the best fight, rankings dont give you that at all.
