It gets old hearing fans boo throughout these fights. Respect the fact that some fighters are bulkier wrestlers whose strategy is to control you. Thats the way it is. MMA is *mixed* martial arts. Not everyone is a striker.

Even more infuriating is the fighters who whine about it. Leben got dominated when Brunson outmuscled him. Ok....*do something about it*. Develop a jab and don't let him come in on you. Okami vs. Belcher. Same situation. You may not like the style, but respect that it's an option.

In b4 rabble rabble rabble

But controlling isn't supposed to be the goal; finishing is. That's why we don't count pins like they're submissions.

its a combination of things really, like alcohol and mistakenly wanting to watch a kickboxing fight, respect for the fighters that step up in the cage is something given by true fans, you respect even the fighter you dislike the most, but the casuals just want blood.

Does the octagon controller feature vibration or motion sensor? I hate both.

At least we got a good videogame joke out of this thread

cannot respect a style where its only objective is to avoid the fight until the the final bell rings.

I feel like the fighter on the bottom and all the fans are all getting trolled each time this happens.

????

i thought winning was supposed to be the goal.

Silly semantics. Makes no sense. Is winning, not scoring points, the goal in handegg?

About what I'd expect from the Joker.

haha here we go!

In the end they are there to please the crowd. That is the ultimate goal. No crowd, no fans, no career.
So imposing a strategy that doesn't please the majority of fans is to shoot yourself in the foot.
With that being said, the crowd in Las Vegas for example, should really re-evaluate their booing. I fucking hate it when underserved booing takes place.
Also, I thought the Okami vs Belcher fight was entertaining.
I only hate matches where fighter a remains in fighter b 's guard, where fighter a enages in stalemate clinching ala Kongo in his last fight, or stand up fights that reminds you of friendly sparring sessions.
As long as they are improving their positioning while throwing punches, looking for submissions, finishes then it is all good.

ts made a good point like develop a jab do something, but this is a funny comment

don't get taken down? then it will be a wall n' stall clinic.

I get tired of people booing it, but I understand why people do not like when fighters fight to "not lose" rather than to win.

I'd much rather watch two lower-level fighters who aren't afraid of losing (and still possessing skill and strategy) than two guys are don't want to go for a sub because they might lose position.

IMO, the big reason undercards keep outdoing the main card is because those guys on the undercard want to prove something. They take some calculated risks because of that. Maincarders are often just trying to stay on the main card, or not screw up their title shot.

You'll see what I'm talking about when Bisping dances his way to a title shot as Vitor gasses.

Hey! Fighter going against a wrestler! ... Yeah you!

DON'T GET WRESTLED!!!

This guy got up after every TD, defended multiple TDs and worked his way off of the cage:

Hey! I'm a wrassler! so go ahead and train for a real fight because I'm just gonna try to take you down and hump your leg for 15 to 25 minutes! Yeah! I'm so cool!!

And if you've been practicing takedown defense, I'm just gonna push you up against the wall and hold you there for 15 to 25 minutes! Yeah! my gameplan is all set!!

Bottom line is if your paying hundreds to go watch live or even if you pay for PPV your entitled to express your opinion on the fight. That Brunson fight was woeful, he didn't even look for the finish then celebrated like a complete moron at the end.
