Tips for dealing with scrapes?

I get some pretty deep and nasty scrapes on my toes and other places when I grapple and they seem to take ages to heal, they actually seem to heal quicker when I do not cover them with something then when I do. I always train through them (always cover them but boy does it burn like hell when I shower.

I'm also worried I might have an increased risk of staph since my skin is compromised although I do always keep them covered and disinfect them
 
you roll on concrete? or are you just talking about regular mat burn?
 
I've recently gotten the crap kicked out of me and have deep scrapes on knees and shins, I'll cover them up but its tough thinking about rolling through them and not reopening or getting blood all over the inside of my pants.
 
Sounds like some growing pains. Put a bandaid on and keep on keeping on. Make sure you wash everything out very carefully after training. After a while your skin will toughen up and these will become less frequent and less painful/distracting.
