I get some pretty deep and nasty scrapes on my toes and other places when I grapple and they seem to take ages to heal, they actually seem to heal quicker when I do not cover them with something then when I do. I always train through them (always cover them but boy does it burn like hell when I shower.
I'm also worried I might have an increased risk of staph since my skin is compromised although I do always keep them covered and disinfect them
