About 2 years ago I was going on a road trip with the family and while everyone else was getting ready I decided to make a quick stop at the grocery store, so I drove there just about the time it was going to open 6am, so there wasn’t too many vehicles on the road it being a Saturday. On green crossing the intersection I noticed with my peripheral vision that a car clearly passed the red light and stopped just about a yard from my truck. Oddly enough I didn’t flinch, or turned to look at the car, nor did any adrenaline kick in. I just continued driving into the parking lot. All I knew was that I could’ve been a goner right and there.

I did notice the car that was behind me crossing the intersection parked not too far away from me. He was an employee at that store but when asked he did see that close-call that just happened and told me that the driver (a young woman) had her phone in hand, texting most likely, did look a little freaked out, but then drove off. I did carry on the rest of the day, but after further reflection, if that driver would’ve continued driving it would have been a perfect t-shaped collision. I don’t think I would have survived that, all because I decided to go to a grocery store early in the morning.

What stories do you have Sherbros?

Was expecting a much better story. You almost got clipped by a vehicle, big deal.

Sorry man, I’ll throw in Michael Bay-esque explosions and a terrorist-hostage situation next time around.

When I was a male escort one time, I slept with this African lady bareback for extra fifty bucks. Then sherdog told me I might have the aidz. Most harrowing six months of my life waiting for the aidz test to come back.

Almost died.

Then you’d be lying to us, which is worse.

I seriously believe this thread has major potential, but your initial post may have let many people down.

It’s simple Bundynomics!

.Ive almost died quite a few times actually. As a baby my mother told me i ate some cigarettes and had to have my stomach pumped.

2.at 14 i climbed the side of a mountain that had a waterfall. there was a place you had to jump over to the other side. When i jumped my hands slipped and i was taken down 2 20ft waters falls. when i landed my leg got stuck between two boulders and the weight of the water fall was on my back. Couldnt get up and i was losing breath. Right as i got that euphoria feeling of just letting go of my life, one of my friends was able to make it down and grabbed one of my arms. I was able to catch my breath and pull my leg out. My leg was fucked for awhile after dealing with that water pressure and twisting my leg.

3. I was stabbed over a girl. Captain save a hoe was mad he was buying her flowers every day and i was sticking it in her mouth everyday. so instead of being a man and fighting me he tried to jump me and when that wasnt going to plan, his boy started stabbing people

4. Ive been shot at multiple times by the same guy. This was in my gangbanging days. i fucked up his cousin and then he wanted to kill me. I wanted to kill him but couldnt find him so i settled for one of his other cousins

5.not really dying by i beat a case of attempted murder

Tried a new mountain biking trail last summer and noticed a small connecting trail to the two I wanted to ride, so I start going down only to realize 100 feet in that’s technical as fuck with 4-5 foot drop offs next to a giant cliff (200 feet?).
I take the first drop and don’t stick the landing and almost go off the next crooked, which would have sent me off. I slide off the bike and roll within 2 feet of then edge before I stop.
I laid there for 4-5 minutes in horror.
Walked the bike the rest of the way. Only time I’ve done that

I think anyone who has driven for 20+ years can honestly say that there were at least a few moments that really could have been disastrous.

Aside from that, nah. That @Strange King post is wild though. Dude was stabbed and shot at. YIKES!

Too many times to mention, and I've found it best to forget about them ASAP or there will be some PTSD involved.

But most memorable for me was, many years ago, getting shot at while driving my car. Bullet shattered the passenger window and went out my open window, passing just in front of my face. No idea of who or why...but it was near my house, and investigators alleged that it was a deer rifle and I was targeted.

I almost drowned when I was 7. Basically, I was used to going into water from a beach or dock in shallow water, because at my family's cottage we had a lake with a beach. It was all I knew. I was visiting my friend's cottage where they had a rock bank, with water that immediately went like 20 feet deep at the edge. I wasn't aware, and just stepped in and sunk right to the bottom. I still remember how disorienting it was. I hit the bottom, had no idea where I was, so I panicked and just clawed at the rocks trying to get back up. Once my feet left the ground, I had no idea what was up or down though. I was just thrashing about. Luckily, my buddy's mother was watching the whole thing from the patio of the cottage, and sprinted down to the water, dove in and saved my ass. If she wasn't there, I probably would've died.

I also got lucky(my whole family did) in a pretty bad car accident. Well, it should've been worse than it was. We got rear ended on the highway on some black ice, and ended up over a guard rail, and rolling the car down a bank. Rolled over twice, landed upright, and then just slid down the rest of the way. The car was absolutely fucked, but we all walked out without a scratch. It was insane. We all had to pile out of the driver's side door, which was the only way out. The first cop on the scene didn't even initially realize that we were the occupants of the car. There was a small crowd who pulled over, and got out along the side of the highway to see if everyone was okay, and he was telling us to get back to our car, because he thought we hopped the rail to help out.

Water is my enemy it would seem.

Went to a beautiful woodland known for down hill mountain biking with an amazing lake, I was 5 years old and after the event was getting ready to go fishing with the old man, somehow I happened to slip on a ramp that helps boats into the water, I slipped in and went under, fortunately another family from way out saw what happend and rescued me.

Fast forward two years later, I’m at a famous water park with rides that have height restrictions, somehow I got on a chute for teens and above, I went down fast and shot out even faster, I actually remember vividly how I could see people in the water but they were unaware of me, as I flailed around my fingers got caught up in a women’s swim suit and she hit me thinking I was a pervert when she managed to see clearly she grabbed me and put me on the side, spluttering and crying (I’d lost all my tickets that were wrapped around my wrist).

Summer of 99 out in Italy boating around Marseille, drinking wine and enjoying the whole thing, when I tripped over a cooler and over I went, hit my head on the side and for what seemed liked a second blacked out and found myself under water, I had to tread water for close to 15 minutes before my drunk comrades managed to direct the boat to my location.

I now stay clear of lakes and riding out on the sea as much as I can.

Flipping my four wheeler on massive steep hills in my early teens probably should have fucked me up worse than it did.

Also a few drug overdoses probably should have taken me out. Don't do fentanyl kids

Everyday bro, every day because life is killing me and bringing me closer to the edge, and it make wonder huh huh huh!

A girl challenged me to race her swimming across a pond. I hardly ever swim and knew I probably wouldn't do well but tried it anyway. I got across and half way back as she finished. There's a spot in the middle you can stand so I figured I'd take a break and catch my breath. I was in the wrong area and there was no ground beneath my feet. I was completely exhausted and couldn't get going again. I hear her asking if I'm ok I replied no then here comes this little 100lbs girl out to save me after smoking me in the race lol. She literally pulled me up as I was going under. Once she started pulling me in a was concerned I may drown her with me and I guess that fear gave me second wind an I was able to get going again

I clicked on this thread and now I have kidney failure

I had an allergic reaction to medicine and my throat closed/tongue swelled.

Totaled my car one night. I was speeding on a rainy street, and my car ran off the road and got stuck between 2 trees.

Ran an intersection one time and 2 cars that were drag racing slammed into me. Witnesses said the truck was airborne for 150 feet. Heart stopped beating frontal lobe damage fractured hip collapsed lung and I had to learn to walk and talk again. So I did die for a second or two. Luckily they knocked my truck into an ambulance or I would have stayed dead.

Fell of a ladder into an abandoned mill at work one time
Except it was a favour job and me and my mate went down to board the window

Fell about 15ft at least and came down hard on my knee and smashed my head
My mate had to cut the hoarding up to get me out, if i had gone to that job on my own god knows
My knee is still fucked to this day

I was in a car addicent when I was in high school. My friend sitting in front of me was driving, he was killed. I slammed into the back of his seat. So I was literally less than 12 inches from death. I still have anxiety riding in cars.
