The guy started out as a D1 wrestling champion at Mizzou, began training mma with rafeal cordeiro after graduating college and had his first fight shortly afterwards. After dismantling zack light, Woodley put his name up there as one of the best mma prospects in the ww division. He later became the strikeforce champ and his only loss was to a roided up nathan marquartz.

After making it to the ufc, he put the division on notice with a few deadly performances. He arguably beat jake shield by a clear cut 30-27 decision but ended up losing a highly controversial split decision. The controversy didn't end there as shield ended up testing positive for steroids, thus proving that you have to cheat to beat t Woodley.

After crushing the best in the ufc ww division he finally got his shot at the gold. All the mma outlets and pundits picked robby lawler to win via standing ko or by submission. Nobody gave Woodley a chance. However, everybody forgot about his muay thai training eith rafeal cordeiro. Woodley perfected his technique and mastered striking skills needed to complete his mma skill trifecta. We all know he can wrestle and grapple, but he wanted to show his elite level muay thai that took years to perfect.

Tyrannosaurus woodley was able to shut down robby lawler and ko him with techniques so flawless, even remy bonjasky gave him praise. Woodley has now completed his quest for dominance and is the ufc ww champ, and solidified his status as one of the 6 greatest wws in mma history.

Congratulations tyron. You earned it buddy! Now show the world what top flight skill can do, and become the greatest fighter ever.

I know you will!

Congratulations. Hell of an athlete, awesome performance.

Just don't try to be a matchmaker because Nick Diaz doesn't deserve shit. Fight Wonderboy and stfu.

Still cant believe he got a title shot that soon after his embarrassing performance against Mcdonald.

Props to him but what a cringy shitty thread.

He lost to shields clearly IMO and shields used diuretics not steroids. Or else they would have suspended him for longer than 6 months.

KG also hung with woodley better than condit or lawler.

No way. All jake shield did was flick kicks and hug him. Tyrannosaurus clearly won that fight bro.

Get with the program.

He won the title in a very competitive division, which is a great accomplishment. Now he needs to act like he belongs in that position and fight Wonderboy instead of trying to make a Diaz fight happen

You seemed to leave out Rory Mac. Why? Woodley is a very 1 dimensional fighter. And rory would beat him every single time. so will many others.

He got outclassed by Rory. Did you forget about that fight?

He defo deserves praise! Congrats Woodley, I knew he would beat Lawler

InB4 Marquardt Gif

He beat Lawler straight up. Pay Dat man his money.

I think Wonderboy smashes him with ease but I also think Wonderboy beats everybody at WW. Dude is on another level.

Woodley better continue to duck Wonderboy like his name was Hector Lombard.

Woodley has way better muay thai than wonderbread thomson. Rafeal cordeiro has trained him to smash guys like stephan thomson. That doesn't matter though.

All tyron would have to do is get the clinch, take hime down, and snag an armbar or kimura from the mount. Woodley has outclassed every opponent he ever faced on the ground. Just look at what he did to zack light. That guy is a phenomenal grappler.

he's just another temporary belt holder in an unstable division. Just like Pettis, Bendo, RDA, etc. He's the flavor of the month. Not sure why Lawler came out so passively. Did he even throw a punch? Right now the belt means very little because Woodley isn't the #1 guy. He's not a Matt Serra, but he's pretty much a Forrest or Rampage. Just holding the belt til he faces any of the numerous fighters that could beat him.

None of those clowns have the skill tyron has. Tyron is one of the greatest wws ever.

Woodley wasn't a D1 Wrestling champion. I think he was a 1x all american placing 6th or 7th in a weight Henricks won in 2005.
