it’s like there is no conception of time in MMA
i would have said the machida bader fight was in 2013 but no 2017 !
and other fights it’s like it was yesterday but no it go back to 2014
so weird khabib conor was in 2018 jeez

Oh I completely agree. I first got into mma around ‘07 and more so in ‘08. I remember one of the cards that I first was really hyped about was GSP vs. Kos and Randy vs. Gonzaga. Now three of those guys are years retired and the other is doing bare knuckle boxing.
I remember becoming a huge Lyoto fan around ufc 84. Hard to believe that was over a decade ago.
It’s also the nature of the beast that some fighters disappear for a while- injuries, suspensions, releases, then come back and while it seems like no time at all has passed, a lot of time has actually elapsed.
the key example I use for that is when the UFC cut AJ after the Vitor loss. I remember when it was announced that he was, deservedly so, back in the company to fight Phil Davis, I recall thinking- oh he wasn’t gone too long- then checking and realizing it had been over two years since that Vitor fight!

Duuuuuude... This is how I feel all the time. Time just keeps slipping through fingers. Not just in MMA sense. I feel like I just screwed the pooch corking a champagne bottle upon 10 seconds too late for 2020 and the year's already halfway over.
