Time based/strategy based games?

I'm sure a lot of you have played these type of games on your phone where you build up your base over time, collect resources etc not even sure what genre these class as.

Do any of you play these type of games but on the p.c where the mechanics are more advanced? What are your thoughts on them? Great time wasters for your phone and addictive.

 

Starcraft 2

 

Final Fantasy Tactics is greater than anything you have ever played.

For tabletop, I love blood bowl, and to a lesser extent warhammer fantasy and to an even lesser extent warhammer 40K, like very lesser, like I'll play 40K if no one else wants to play anything better.

In short, I love strategy games.

 

The genre is rts, but there's a hundreds if not thousands year old game that kicks any rts' ass

 

I was thinking more browser based. Like websites you play on.

- General Chaos

 

Kingdom Rush and Cursed Treasure are two really fun tower defense games

 

Command and Conquer Generals. Age of Empires.

 

Any good recommendations for iPhone? Need something to play at work.
