Tim Kennedy and Brendan Schaub discuss the The UFC/Reebok deal together

Enough with the hyperbole, geez.

No sense talking to you if that's your argument.

There is no sense in talking because the Reebok deal is full of shit and as long as an entire card gets paid less than Kennedy was in one Strikeforce fight there is no discussion.

I've listened to the podcast and their points were legit. I'm with them on this.

It's not hyperbole at all. Even guys like Rogan, the voice of the UFC, have had something to say about it. You're a typical "fan" who doesn't give a fuck about the fighters and always sides with the promotion screwing them.

Any time you start pulling %s out of your butt you're stepping into the realm of hyperbole.

Another thread that will be flooded with shills later and insist the reebok deal is
-mainly for the well being of the fighters...
-fighters need to sell more shirts to compensate for the sponsor $$$ they lost
-if Ronda rousey can sell, they can too...
-only a few fighters have complain so the rest are happy
-nobody held a gun to their head to fight for UFC

I like the fact that you can't comprehend that Kennedy only made as much as he did because the sponsors were using him to get cheap television ads, not because anyone actually cares who Tim Kennedy is.

You should change your name to emotional poster.

Sherdog routinely took a shit on Schaub and Kennedy but now that they're bitching about the ufc they've gotten alot more fans. Too bad none of them are willing to pay to see them

"It's what communists dictatorships do in a way." Callen getting political, and sounding like a complete dumbass as usual.

You obviously don't know what hyperbole is.

Another reason not continue this line of discussion with you.

Ok leave then. Fact is these guys are getting massive pay cuts. How is durastically less income in a profession where you get your brain scrambled, limbs twisted, and punched in the face being the norm, ever a good thing?

STFU. Thank you.

Bryan Callen is pretty horrible with interviews

Brendan is funny though

The only reason they got that money was because sponsors were using them as billboards on TV.

If they weren't on a UFC broadcast they wouldn't be worth anything to sponsors.

As for the rest, fighting is a choice and no one forces them to do it. They are big boys and are well aware of the risks involved. They do it because they want to.

Fair enough, valid point.

However when a supplementing source of income is durastically reduced, it's a big hit. That's the issue here, despite whatever circumstances surround it.

Rest assured, any fighter the UFC and their sponsors find value in, they will be paid accordingly to keep them on board.

If they aren't happy with UFC's offer they will be free to seek fights with other promotions.

You know the one thing that seems to connect just about every fighter that's outspoken against the Reebok deal.

They're currently salty about a loss or losing streak.

Aldo, Anderson, GSP.

Yeah, these guys just can't seem to stop losing in MMA

I'm sure if they were winning fights then they would love Reebok

Unless their contract gets terminated, otherwise fighters other then these guys aren't speaking up due to fear of consequences. So these guys are their voice and lots of them feel this way but can't. Easier said then done man to just jump ship if they feel like it

Aldo is just plain salty about everything. Can't say I don't see why he is. UFC clearly favors Conor over him. He was offered an individual deal from Reebok and made the choice to stick with his current sponsors.

All Anderson said was that he prefers Nike to Reebok since they've been a long time sponsors of his.

GSP declined to comment and said he'd let his management handle things.

Not sure what you're on about.

Plenty of fighters under contract have been outspoken against the deal since it went into effect and none of them have had their contracts terminated.

Even Schaub and Kennedy still have contracts they just aren't accepting any fights it seems.

If they want to leave, they fight the fights on their contract and the UFC can't stop them from leaving even if they really really want to.
