Just imagine if Till actually wins after failing to make weight for the FOURTH time in his last 7 fights.
 
Size advantage usually only makes a difference if the person he's fighting was a slow puncher that couldn't close distance quickly.
 
The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

“The Gorilla” himself admitted that he was a “a little bit” surprised by the size advantage he commanded over the defending champion.

“A little bit,” Till replied this week at a media day in Las Vegas when asked if he was surprised by how much bigger he was than Woodley when they faced off.

Till claims that it’s his posturing that usually makes him seem so much bigger, but noted that he was definitely bigger than Woodley when they squared off for the first time in Los Angeles a few weeks back.

“I think, as I’ve said a few times now, I just make myself look big; I puff my chest out, I put my arms up in the air. It was that stance that made me look bigger. I was, on that day, significantly bigger than Tyron,” he said.

The Team Kaobon striking specialist also noted that Woodley is a big customer himself. Till particularly referenced the champion’s chest, arms, and legs when sizing up him up for the gathered media.

“I just think, with his top off, Tyron is a big guy. His chest is buff, he’s got big arms and huge legs. In the Octagon there will be a slight difference, but not massively because he is a big dude,” Till said.

My ass he's bigger Woodley walks at 205+ and they have the same reach it's only a height difference. Look at how much thicker and built Woodley is. Look at the size of his fucking thighs. They're the size of Till's chest. Woodley is the stronger, more powerful and more explosive guy yet he's supposed to be the smaller guy? Also Woodley has already fought ""big"" guys, Wonderboy was the same height.

I agree that Woodley's build is much more powerful than Till's but those reach stats aren't accurate at all. Till's got about the same reach as Wonderboy who had a clear range advantage on Woodley.

Google says they both have a 74" reach. Regardless the size thing is being overblown. Woodley is not tall but he's fucking built like a tank, has great reach and he's been fighting taller guys his whole career. If people are giving Till the advantage because of this they are in for a shock.

Exactly. I don’t know if people will ever learn that mass equals size. Not length and height.

Also as others have pointed out. Just because Woodley is short that doesn't mean he's a small WW.

Quite the opposite in fact

Woodley is very wide and thick as shit.

Woodley has an insanely huge frame and will probably weigh just as much as Till does on Fight Night

I honestly think this fight is going to play out a lot like Wonderboy vs. Woodley

You have Till's cage cutting and tendency to walk opponents down vs Woodley's natural tendency to back himself to the fence

(Woodley does so as bait, but I imagine Till is a smart fighter who's going to know that)

Except Till is a way better puncher and boxer than Wonderboy is.

So I can see the same kind of fight alongside the fence, with Till having the center, except with Till doing more damage and not getting caught by Woodley's bumrushes forward off the fence to break the pressure etc

Till is also a much better inside fighter than Wonderboy is

I won't be surprised if Till switches it up, punches into a clinch when they are close to the fence, smoothers Woodley, and then Muay Thai shits the fuck out of Woodley up against the fence ala Marquardt

What you guys are saying is only partially correct.

Yes, the difference we see in the staredown is due to the fact that Till has a much bigger frame (height, bone structure wise), and mass-wise, there is much closer gap due to Woodley having the density in his muscles.

There IS a significant difference between someone who's packing a lot of muscle for his frame and walks around at maybe 190 - 200 lbs (Woodley) and a guy who has naturally a bigger frame that walks around at 200 - 210 lbs (Till).

A more extreme example of this comparison would be Hector Lombard & Anthony Johnson. Both fought as a welter weight. The former was a really thick dude who basically maxed out on his muscle mass for his frame, while the latter - well, we all know - eventually filled out his frame and competed at LHW with no size disadvantage.

Till could easily compete as a decently-sized MW, while Woodley would probably be undersized as a MW. That's the difference.

I agree, there are more factors, and Till is bigger, but it’s a lot closer than people say. Like I’ve also said before, the huge cut he’s going to make could likely result in evening out the size advantage that he does have.
